Adam Azim out to prove he is ready to fight American star Devin Haney after accepting bout on ONE WEEKS' notice

ADAM AZIM is ready to prove he is ready for the likes of Devin Haney - after accepting a super short-notice fight.
Azim faces Mexico's Eliot Chavez this Saturday in Barnsley after having just a week to prepare for the bout.

But the ultra-fit and professional super-lightweight always stays ready for any challenge - even against boxing's best.
Azim, 22, told Sky Sports: "I would fight Haney next week. I just feel he's more moving around and doesn't want to initiate attacks.
"He is a top-level fighter but I don't think he's the same fighter that he was before.
"If he's running on the backfoot, throwing one jab every two rounds, why not?"
Haney, 26, was dropped three times by Ryan Garcia, also 26, in April 2026 in what looked to be his first defeat.
But the result was overturned when Garcia returned a positive drug test for ostarine - known to boost muscle growth.
Haney had his undefeated record restored and returned with a dull points win over Jose Ramirez, 32, in New York in May.
Garcia - who accepted a one-year ban but blamed the positive test on a tainted supplement - also fought on the same night.
But he was stunned in defeat to Rolly Romero, 29, having been dropped before losing on points.
Azim is targeting the top names at the 140lb division Haney used to rule as WBC champion - and slammed the American's safety-first style.
Three-weight world champion Vasily Lomachenko retires after more than 400 FIGHTS in lengthy video
He said: "For me I can fight front foot and back foot.
"Haney, I think he's got enough power just to keep someone off, but I don't think he has that one-punch power.
"But I think if I was going to fight him I think I'd beat him with speed."

Moises Caicedo says Chelsea will learn from Flamengo defeat

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo insists lessons will be learnt from Friday's loss to Flamengo at the Club World Cup. The Blues capitulated in the second half in Philadelphia, surrendering a lead to lose 3-1 to the Brazilians and finish with 10 men. Most of the damage was done in a torrid six-minute spell in which they conceded twice and had Nicolas Jackson – just four minutes after coming off the bench – sent off for a reckless tackle. The result leaves them second in Group D with a win and a loss and potentially facing a more difficult route through the competition, with a possible clash against Bayern Munich in the last 16. 'It was difficult to take, but now we are focusing on the next game,' said Caicedo. 'For sure, we need to learn from this game. We need to react. 'I think the team played well but you need to be focused for 95 minutes in this game because, in one second, you can lose the game and that was what happened.' Flamengo looked the more energetic side but they lacked a cutting edge in the first half and it was Chelsea who carried the greater threat through some quick counter-attacks. Liam Delap, making his full debut in place of Jackson, forced a good save before Pedro Neto broke from halfway to open the scoring with a well-taken strike in the 14th minute. A feisty contest tilted in Flamengo's favour when Bruno Henrique equalised just after the hour and veteran Danilo followed up with a second three minutes later. The Premier League side were still reeling when Jackson was shown a straight red card for an aggressive studs-up challenge on Ayrton Lucas. It was his second sending off in four appearances for the club and ended their hopes of fighting back. Wallace Yan wrapped up the scoring seven minutes from time. Manager Enzo Maresca partly put the defeat – and a subdued performance from key playmaker Cole Palmer in a wider role – down to experimentation ahead of next season. The Italian said: 'It's not just about Cole. In the last two days we tried something completely different. 'For the first time we played in a different structure, just to prepare also for next season, to have more options. 'I think the plan was quite good for one hour until we conceded the goal, but I think at the end they deserved to win the game. 'Flamengo are a very good team with good players, with a good manager. They played very well.'

Rutschman, 27, is hitting .227 with eight homers and 20 RBIs in 68 games this season. The top overall pick of the 2019 MLB Draft has yet to land on the injured list in his career. Blackhawks acquire F Andre Burakovsky from Kraken

June 21 - The Chicago Blackhawks acquired Andre Burakovsky from the Seattle Kraken on Saturday in exchange for fellow forward Joe Veleno. Burakovsky, 30, recorded 37 points (10 goals, 27 assists) in 79 regular-season games with the Kraken this past season. The two-time Stanley Cup winner carries a salary cap hit of $5.5 million in each of the next two seasons remaining on his five-year contract. "Andre was a valuable player for our organization during the three years he was here, and we wish him and his family the best of luck in Chicago," Kraken general manager Jason Botterill said. "In return, we've acquired a young player with experience while also increasing our salary cap flexibility moving forward." Burakovsky has totaled 387 points (153 goals, 234 assists) in 696 career games with the Washington Capitals (2014-19), Colorado Avalanche (2019-22) and Kraken.
