‘Sarangapani Jathakam' is a full-on entertainer with Indraganti's signature touch: Sivalenka Krishna Prasad
Sri Devi Movies, the renowned production house behind hits like Aditya 369 and Gentleman, is back with another promising film titled Sarangapani Jathakam. Produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad and directed by Mohanakrishna Indraganti, the film stars Priyadarshi and Rupa Koduvayur in lead roles and is set for a grand release on April 25.
Speaking to the media, Sivalenka Krishna Prasad revealed that Sarangapani Jathakam is a complete entertainer loaded with comedy, suspense, action, and romance. 'I always wanted to make a full-fledged comedy film. With Indraganti's story and screenplay, that dream has come true. The film will leave audiences in splits,' he said.
This marks the third collaboration between Krishna Prasad and Indraganti, following the successes of Gentleman and Sammohanam. The producer is confident this will be their hat-trick hit, especially with the film releasing during the holiday season.
He described the film as a unique blend of humor and suspense centered around a horoscope. 'The first half is pure fun, while the second half takes the narrative to the next level. Every character, including those played by Vennela Kishore, Viva Harsha, Naresh, and Avasarala Srinivas, is integral to the story,' he added.
Praising Priyadarshi's comic timing, Krishna Prasad said, 'After his serious role in Court, this film will show a completely new side of him. He's done complete justice to the character.' The film is slated for a wide release in over 220 theatres overseas, promising a perfect summer treat for audiences.

Every CBFC-approved film must be released: SC in plea over extra-judicial ban of 'Thug Life' in Karnataka
New Delhi [India], June 17 (ANI): While hearing a plea seeking protection of theatres in Karnataka over the alleged threats and extrajudicial ban of Kamal Haasan film 'Thug Life', the Supreme Court on Tuesday orally observed that every film which has been duly approved by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) must be allowed to be released. A bench of Justices Ujjal Bhuyan and Manmohan also said that mobs and vigilantes shall not be allowed to take to the streets and create a ruckus over the issue. The Court also remarked that people may come (to watch the film) and they may not but the movie which is approved by CBFC must be released. Thus, it directed the Karnataka government to file a response by tomorrow regarding the release of 'Thug Life'. The Court stated that it had issued notice to the State government, seeking its response in the last hearing, considering the urgency of the matter. The Court posted the matter to be heard next on Thursday. During the hearing, counsels appearing on behalf of the Karnataka government informed the Court that the producer of the said film has stated that they are working on the issue to be resolved in the matter which is pending before the Karnataka High Court. After hearing the submissions, the top court transferred the case pending before the Karnataka High Court to itself. The top-court was hearing a plea filed by Mahesh Reddy who had flagged the issue of threats being issued by fringe elements in Karnataka over the release of 'Thug Life'. He has stated that such threats have created a law and order situation in the state. Reddy, sought directions to protect the theatres in the State. The Court had on June 13 issued notice to the Karnataka government, the State police, and Raaj Kamal Films. International Private Limited and the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) are seeking their responses to the said plea. During the June 13 hearing, the counsel A Velan who appeared for the petitioner had submitted that no action has been taken by the state authorities in Karnataka despite violent threats being issued against linguistic minorities in the State. The issue arose over an alleged statement recently made by actor Kamal Hassan, which said, 'Kannada was born out of Tamil'. As per the petitioners' plea, there is an effective ban on the CBFC-certified film Thug Life in Karnataka, which is caused by violent threats from private groups, and the state authorities have failed to take action in this regard. The plea argued that such inaction violates the fundamental right to freedom of speech and expression under Article 19(1)(a) of the Constitution. This right applies not only to filmmakers but also to the public who want to view films. (ANI)

Nagarjuna addresses changing trends in Tollywood and Bollywood: 'It can't be fantastic all the time'
Picture Credit: Facebook Veteran actor Nagarjuna who is gearing up for the release of the upcoming film 'Kuberaa', starring Dhanush in the lead, recently weighed in on the ongoing comparisons between Bollywood and the southern film industries. During an interview with Galatta Plus, Nagarjuna shared that he believes these trends are cyclical, and no industry remains at the top forever. When asked if Bollywood has lost it's spark in contrast to a booming southern film industry, the actor dismissed it saying, "These narratives keep changing." He explained that it's like an actor or director having a bad time of 4-5 years. He further explained, "Everything cumulative probably happened there, and films didn't work. And then they say the whole film industry is gone. In my time, in the Telugu film industry, it has happened four times. And I believe the fourth time will come now, very soon. I'm very sure, it's my hunch." Nagarjuna was also asked about filmmaker Naga Vamsi's recent prediction of a "bloodbath" in Tollywood due to changing audience tastes and underperforming films. The actor disagreed with it but also shared the need for timely reinvention. He about how films like mentioned that Tourist Family' in Tamil, 'Court' in Telugu, and 'Anaganaga' on OTT are working so well. He shared that audience's tastes are changing and as filmmakers, they have to keep that in mind. "They have to change fast. If we don't look at the future, things could be pretty bad.
