New wave is alive and well.
DEVO and The B-52s announced they're teaming up for their co-headlining 'Cosmic De-Evolution Tour' with special guest Lene Lovich from September through November.
While on the road, the offbeat rock pioneers — who both performed at 'SNL50' this past February — are scheduled to make a pair of New York and New Jersey stops.
Up first, they'll swoop into Holmdel, NJ's PNC Bank Arts Center on Saturday, Oct. 4. Then, on Sunday, Oct. 5, the '80s-tastic twosome hit Long Island's Jones Beach Theater.
'COORDINATES CONFIRMED. These are the dates. These are the cities,' The B-52s shared via Instagram. 'Come weird. Come loud. Just don't miss it!'
Upon further investigation, eagle-eyed diehards may notice the text 'one last orbit (maybe?)' on the bottom of the tour announcement poster.
While we can't confirm what exactly is being implied there, DEVO has been in the middle of their '50 Years of De-Evolution…Continued' farewell tour for three years and The B-52s claimed they were calling it quits in November 2022 but have since headlined at festivals, performed in their hometown Athens, GA, conducted multiple Las Vegas residencies and put on a few one-off shows all over North America.
Makes sense that two of the cheekiest bands of all time would goof on saying goodbye.
'I'm looking forward to 2073,' DEVO frontman Mark Mothersbaugh, who has scored everything from the 'Rugrats' theme song to Wes Anderson films, joked in an interview with The Guardian back in 2023. 'We'll play 100th anniversary Devo shows and then maybe retire.'
'In 2022, I swore I'd never get on a tour bus again' B-52s singer Fred Schneider said in a press release fo the fall tour. '…but we were careful to say to our fans that we would still perform in special situations that don't require all of the awful tour travel. Our Vegas residency is going great, and when we were offered the chance to do a small run of shows with Devo, we all said this is an extraordinary opportunity we couldn't say no to.'
Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming DEVO shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale for the 'Cosmic De-Evolution Tour' is Friday, June 20.
Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.
They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

'SNL50' performances
This past February, both DEVO and The B-52s participated in the 'SNL50: Homecoming Concert' at Radio City Music Hall. Amy Poehler Says ‘SNL' Actors ‘All Played People We Should Not Have… I Misappropriated, I Appropriated': Everything in Comedy Has an ‘Expiration Date'

Amy Poehler recently took accountability for her problematic 'Saturday Night Live' characters while talking to former cast member Will Forte on her 'Good Hang' podcast. Poehler said that every comedian who has appeared on 'SNL' over the years has 'played people that we should not have played' and 'the part about getting older and being in comedy is you have to, like, figure out, 'Oh, it's like everything has an expiration date.'' 'There was even on ['SNL50'], when they had that segment which was like, 'Here's all the ways we got things wrong,' and they showed way inappropriate casting for people,' Poehler added. 'We all played people that we should not have played. I misappropriated, I appropriated…I didn't know.' The montage of poorly-aged bits includes jokes about sexual harassment and such infamous moments as Adrien Brody sporting dreadlocks and a Jamaican accent. 'Even though these characters, accents and … let's just call them 'ethnic' wigs were unquestionably in poor taste, you all laughed at them,' Tom Hanks said in a winking moment at the audience. 'So if anyone should be canceled, shouldn't it be you, the audience? Something to think about.' Speaking to Forte on her podcast, Poehler added: 'The best thing you can do is make repairs, learn from your mistakes, do better. It's all you can do.' ‘Everything has an expiration date': Amy Poehler on her ‘inappropriate' ‘SNL' moments, including portraying Michael Jackson and Kim Jong-il

Amy Poehler's Good Hang comedy podcast is getting serious. In this week's episode (watch below), she caught up with Tina Fey and Will Forte, her former Saturday Night Live costars, and opened up about how certain aspects of comedy don't age well. Poehler was an SNL cast member between 2001 and 2008, and returned later to host the show in 2010 and 2015 (she won an Emmy for the latter appearance alongside Fey, her cohost). The funny ladies most recently appeared in February's SNL50 anniversary special, where they took questions from the star-studded audience members. Addressing the anniversary special's comedic "In Memoriam" montage that alluded to problematic sketches, Poehler added, "They had that segment which was like, 'Here's all the ways we got things wrong,' and they showed way inappropriate casting for people." While the actress didn't specifically name any of her past controversial moments from Saturday Night Live, she did portray several non-white people on television, including Michael Jackson in a tree and on a roller-coaster, former North Korean dictator Kim Jong-il, and Japanese singer-songwriter Yoko Ono. Plus, Poehler was involved in a sketch in which Ben Affleck yelled at a "mentally challenged guy," played by Fred Armisen. "We all played people that we should not have played," Poehler readily admitted. "I misappropriated, I appropriated ... I didn't know." While stopping short of specifically apologizing, she did go on to say, "It's very real, and the best thing you can do is make repairs, learn from your mistakes, do better. It's all you can do." The "In Memoriam" montage in question began with Tom Hanks proclaiming, "These SNL characters and sketches have aged horribly. But even though these characters, accents, and — let's just call them 'ethnic wigs' — were unquestionably in poor taste, you all laughed at them. So, if anyone should be canceled, shouldn't it be you, the audience? Something to think about." Good Hang With Amy Poehler is undoubtedly a frontrunner to receive a Golden Globe nomination in the brand new Best Podcast Award category next year. The goal of the honor is to celebrate excellence in podcasting by recognizing a contender's "quality, creativity, audience engagement, and impact." Each week, Poehler welcomes celebrities, fun people, and famous friends to her studio where they swap stories and talk what's been making them laugh.
