Shujoun Al-Hajri released on bail after drug arrest sparks uproar
ALBAWABA - Kuwaiti actress Shujoun Al-Hajri released on bail amid controversy. It was decided by the Public Prosecution of Kuwait that Shujoun Al-Hajri should be released for his release. Legal representative Jarrah Mubarak Al-Wawan stated that his client, Shujoun, was freed on bond in the amount of two hundred dinars, with the condition that he be subject to medical supervision at this time. This comes just a few days after she was taken into custody on charges of carrying psychotropic medications and opioids with the intention of consuming them. Following an examination of the medical records, which indicated that it was necessary to place Shojoon under medical monitoring, the decision to release him was handed down. Regarding the specifics of the investigation's progression, there were no additional details disclosed. The Ministry of Interior of Kuwait had previously made an announcement regarding the arrest of a female citizen who was found to be in possession of narcotics. Additionally, the ministry had published a photograph of a person whose facial features were strikingly similar to those of Shujoun Al-Hajri, which caused a great deal of debate on social media. Shujoun Al-Hajri Instagram profile Recirculating news or photographs of Shujoun Al-Hajri on social media is a violation of Kuwaiti law, according to a legal statement filed by Shujoun's attorney. The statement further emphasized that defaming Shujoun is a felony that can result in legal consequences. In addition, he urged that her privacy be respected during this particular period of time. It is important to note that on Saturday, the Kuwaiti Women's Cultural and Social Society issued a statement in which it expressed its concern over the reporting style surrounding the arrest of Shujoun Al-Hajri. The statement also emphasized the necessity of respecting the privacy of individuals, particularly in situations that involve health and psychological aspects. "The Kuwaiti Women's Cultural and Social Society appreciates the Ministry of Interior's efforts in combating drugs and its continued commitment to protecting society and its members," the society stated on its Instagram account. "We are fully committed to safeguarding society and its members."

Syrian President orders 200% salary increase for all state employees
Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa issued a decree on June 19 mandating a 200 percent salary and wage increase for all state employees. The raise covers both civilian and military personnel working in ministries, public institutions, and government-owned companies, as well as units and entities in the mixed sector where the state owns at least 50 percent of the capital, according to an official statement from the presidency. The increase also applies to temporary, daily, seasonal, contracted, part-time, and piece-rate workers, including agents, casual workers, and those employed under administrative contracts or usage agreements. The decree stipulates that the raise will automatically apply to contracted Syrian workers and those in equivalent positions, provided their contracted wages do not exceed the monthly salaries of their permanent counterparts holding similar qualifications within the same public entity. This decision is part of broader government measures aimed at improving citizens' living standards amid current economic challenges.

Trump, Netanyahu spoke after US strikes on Iran: White House official
President Donald Trump spoke to 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the US military launched strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities, a senior White House official said Saturday. The United States also "gave Israel a heads-up before the strikes," the official told AFP on condition of anonymity, as Washington joined 'Israel's' air campaign against Iran. Earlier, President Donald Trump said Sunday the US military has carried out a "very successful attack" on three Iranian nuclear sites, including the crucial underground uranium enrichment facility at Fordo. Trump said a "full payload of BOMBS" was dropped on Fordo, in a surprise announcement that came just two days after he had apparently opened a two-week window for diplomacy. He was set to address the nation at 10 pm (0200 GMT) after deciding to join 'Israel's' strikes on Iran's nuclear program. "We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan," Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform. "A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow." Trump added that "all planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors." In a second post announcing his address to the nation from the White House, Trump said that "IRAN MUST NOW AGREE TO END THIS WAR." He also described it as a "historic" moment for the United States, 'Israel' and the world. Trump's shock announcement came just two days after he said he would decide "within two weeks" whether to join key ally 'Israel' in attacking Iran. Earlier on Saturday there were reports that US B-2 bombers -- which carry so-called "bunker buster" bombs -- were headed out of the United States. Trump did not say what kind of US planes or munitions were involved. 'TIME FOR PEACE' Tehran had threatened reprisals on US forces in the Middle East if Trump attacked but the US president said that "NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!" Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian had warned earlier Saturday of a "more devastating" retaliation should 'Israel's' nine-day bombing campaign continue, saying the Islamic republic would not halt its nuclear program "under any circumstances." 'Israel' said on Saturday it had killed three more Iranian commanders in its unprecedented offensive, and Foreign Minister Gideon Saar claimed Tehran's alleged progress towards a nuclear weapon had been set back by two years. 'Israel' and Iran have traded wave after wave of devastating strikes since 'Israel' launched its aerial campaign on June 13, saying Tehran was on the verge of developing a nuclear weapon. On Saturday, 'Israel' said it had attacked Iran's Isfahan nuclear site for a second time, with the UN nuclear watchdog reporting that a centrifuge manufacturing workshop had been hit. Later Saturday Iran's Mehr news agency said 'Israel' had launched strikes on the southern city of Shiraz, which hosts military bases. And early Sunday, Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced that a "vast" wave of "suicide drones" had been launched against "strategic targets" across Israel. Iran denies seeking an atomic bomb, and on Saturday Pezeshkian said its right to pursue a civilian nuclear program "cannot be taken away... by threats or war." 'Continued aggression' In a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron, Pezeshkian said "we do not agree to reduce nuclear activities to zero under any circumstances," he added, according to Iran's official IRNA news agency. Referring to the 'Israeli' attacks, he said: "Our response to the continued aggression of the Zionist regime will be more devastating." Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi was in Istanbul on Saturday for a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation to discuss the conflict. Top diplomats from Britain, France and Germany had met Araghchi in Geneva on Friday and urged him to resume nuclear talks with the United States that had been derailed by the war. Iran's Houthi allies in Yemen on Saturday threatened to resume their attacks on US vessels in the Red Sea if Washington joined the war, despite a recent ceasefire agreement. The US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency said Friday that, based on its sources and media reports, at least 657 people had been killed in Iran, including 263 civilians. Iran's health ministry on Saturday gave a toll of more than 400 people killed in the 'Israeli' strikes.
