Aleema slams Imran's 'controlled' meetings
Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, has accused authorities of selectively allowing meetings with the PTI founder, barring those who genuinely wish to see him.
Speaking outside Adiala Jail on Tuesday, she revealed that she and her sisters were made to wait for two and a half hours but were ultimately denied a meeting.
She condemned the judiciary, calling the legal system "decayed" and accusing it of dragging out politically motivated cases. She lamented that while Bushra Bibi's family was allowed a meeting, the three sisters were not granted the same access.
According to Aleema, the incarcerated party supremo told his lawyers that jail authorities had informed him there would be no meetings during Eid holidays.
Moreover, senior lawyers Hamid Khan and Uzair Bhandari were also denied access. She questioned why courts, which can impose restrictions on lawyers speaking to the media, cannot ensure that meetings occur as per an approved list.
Aleema further claimed that Imran was being kept in solitary confinement and demanded transparency regarding the state's intentions toward him.
However, despite all hardships, Imran's sister asserted he remained strong.
Expressing deep concern over the situation in Balochistan, the PTI founder reportedly told his lawyers that his government had previously resolved issues in the province through dialogue.
Aleema also disclosed that during a joint investigation team (JIT) inquiry, she was accused of being responsible for social media activity regarding PTI.
"We believe what our lawyers tell us, but ultimately, it is the courts and judges who must ensure justice," she said, adding that judicial credibility was at stake.
She also lamented that nearly a thousand PTI workers had been imprisoned since November 26, lamenting that these individuals were jailed not for personal reasons but for Pakistan's cause.
"One court grants bail, while another summons them in a different case. We will do whatever we can for our detainees," she vowed.
Meanwhile, a dispute arose at Adiala Jail's Gate 5 after Babar Awan was granted permission to meet the PTI founder, despite objections from PTI's legal coordinator, Salman Akram Raja.
It was the first scheduled meeting day following an Islamabad High Court (IHC) directive.
Tensions flared when Babar Awan submitted his name for approval ahead of Salman Akram Raja. Raja later objected, arguing that only lawyers he approved should be allowed access.
He provided a list including himself, Niazullah Niazi, Naeem Panjutha, Zaheer Chaudhry, Hamid Khan and Azam Swati. However, jail authorities removed Swati from the list and instead permitted Awan to proceed.
The change in the list led to a confrontation, with Raja demanding that Awan be barred. "If he is allowed inside, we will protest," he warned.
Jail officials initially assured him that Awan would not be permitted entry, urging Raja and other leaders to proceed with their meeting.
However, jail authorities later allowed Awan inside, breaking their earlier assurance. Eventually, six PTI lawyers, including Awan, met with the PTI founder.
Speaking informally with journalists afterward, Awan confirmed the meeting and said that Raja was also present.

K-P budget to be approved only after Imran's nod, says CM's aide
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister's Advisor on Information Barrister Dr Saif has said that the provincial budget will not be approved without consultation with Patron-in-Chief Imran Khan. He noted that people voted for the vision of the Patron-in-Chief therefore all key decisions, including the budget, should reflect the public mandate. Speaking to the media, Dr Saif warned that people would not tolerate any disrespect to their democratic mandate. He reiterated that the people of K-P voted for the ideology of Imran Khan thus all significant decisions must be made in consultation with him. He urged the federal government to refrain from "petty tactics". He accused the federal government of relentlessly trying to undermine the K-P government, adding that the people of the province were being punished for supporting the Patron-in-Chief. "Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa is a vital unit of the federation, and weakening it is tantamount to weakening Pakistan itself," said Saif. He warned that any conspiracy against the province would have serious repercussions. Under the vision of the Patron-in-Chief and the leadership of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the province is witnessing rapid development, which is hard to digest by the federal government. He termed K-P a stronghold of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), adding the movement for the release of the Patron-in-Chief will gain full momentum from the province. He alleged that false cases had been registered to confine the Patron-in-Chief, but assured that all such fabricated cases would soon be dismissed.

PM's defamation suit against IK: Proceeding put off till tomorrow
LAHORE: A sessions court on Saturday adjourned the proceedings of a defamation suit of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif till June 23 as his cross examination was not concluded. The court however, asked the prime minister to file a formal application to present a legal notice to PTI former chairman in defamation suit. Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appeared before the court through video link and complained about the delay in the proceedings of his defamation suit against PTI founding chairman Imran Khan. 'Several hearings have taken place before the court, but the proceedings have not moved beyond stamps and signatures,' the prime minister said, addressing the court during his cross-examination. During the cross-examination, the counsel for the defendant, asked the prime minister why his affidavit did not mention who identified him before the oath commissioner. At this, the plaintiff's lawyer objected to the question, saying the issue had already been discussed. Being irked with recurring questions, PM Shehbaz sarcastically said while the time of the court and the defendant's counsel was considered precious, his own time, although at a much lower level, was also valuable. The court at this also remarked that it seemed the Imran's lawyer was using the proceedings as an excuse to keep seeing the prime minister repeatedly. PM Shehbaz, however, explained that the oath commissioner knew him in his capacity as the then chief minister of Punjab. Adviser says KP budget will be approved after consultation with IK
PESHAWAR: Advisor to KP Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information, Barrister Dr Saif has said that the provincial budget will be approved only after consultation with Imran Khan. He emphasised that since the public voted for Imran Khan's ideology, the approval of the budget is also conditional upon his consultation. He said that public will not tolerate any disrespect to their mandate under any circumstances. If any attempt is made to impose any kind of emergency in the province, the government will not last even a single day. He made it clear that the authority to dissolve the provincial assembly lies solely with the Chief Minister. Barrister Saif asserted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the only province where a government truly representative of the public has been formed based on Form 45, whereas the federal and other provincial governments are relying on fake foundation of Form 47.
