A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being cut free from the wreckage of a serious late-night freeway crash.
The 32-year-old was a passenger in a red Jeep Wrangler that veered off Perth's Kwinana Freeway and rolled near the intersection with Roe Highway in North Lake, in the city's southern suburbs, about 11.30pm on Sunday.
He was carefully removed from the vehicle and rushed to Royal Perth Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition on Monday.
The driver, a 22-year-old man, was also taken to RPH with minor injuries.
The crash closed the northbound lanes of the freeway for some time, with diversions in place while incident response teams attended the scene.
Major Crash investigators are examining the circumstances, and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.

An elderly former police officer and cruise passenger has been charged with allegedly assaulting a young teenage girl on board a ship off the Queensland coast. Police allege the incident happened shortly before 11pm on Thursday while the Carnival Encounter was sailing off from Townsville. The teen was said to be running in the hallway with tweezers when the incident occurred. Spiro has been charged with deprivation of liberty and two counts of common assault. Bail was granted on his own undertaking, with a condition of no contact with children. The former New Zealand police officer, who has lived in Australia since 1988, has no criminal history. The matter returns to court on July 24.

Man rushed to hospital after citizens arrest in Northbridge
A man has broken two bones in his leg after using himself as a human shield to assist police in their chase for an alleged criminal on a busy street in Perth. Francesco Mercuri, 39, was waiting for an Uber when he saw 'about six police officers' running after a man in Northbridge at 4.30am on April 25. 'This guy was running for his life and he was well ahead of about six police officers who were chasing him down,' Mr Mercuri told The West Australian. 'I did what any good citizen would do and I put myself in between them and him and I tried to stop him with my leg, 'I actually don't know if he stomped on it or if it was the impact that knocked me off my feet but it was so painful.' 'He is proud, generous and someone who's always there for others, whether it's a delicious meal, a helping hand, or a kind word,' she said. Exclusive vision has been obtained by 7NEWS of a former reality TV star performing a strange stunt only days before she was accused of murder in South Australia. The former Beauty and the Geek contestant is accused of brutally killing her partner at a unit they shared in Port Lincoln on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula. The man's body was found inside the home, following a fire on Thursday afternoon. The woman was arrested at the scene and taken to a local hospital, where she was charged with murder. In a bizarre twist, 7NEWS obtained footage of the woman standing on Port Lincoln war memorial wearing a white veil just weeks before the alleged crime. The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, can be seen standing in a while dress holding a dark object in one hand being filmed by concerned members of the public. It is understood she had recently moved in with the man she is alleged to have murdered. Witness Jody Miller told 7NEWS he was one of the first on scene attempting to put out the fire, unaware of the body of a man lay inside. 'It's devastating,' Miller said. 'This doesn't happen in a small town like Port Lincoln.' A court order has been placed over details of the case, however, police have said the unit is a complex scene. Officers and forensics teams continue to gather evidence from within the unit, while police continue searches across town to piece together the woman's movement prior to the fire. The woman faced court on Friday via phone link and has been remanded in custody. She did not apply for bail and will face court again at a later date.
