Varun Sood, initially planning to join the Indian Army, auditioned for Roadies at 19 to win a bike.
Varun Sood, whose father and grandfather served in the Indian Army, once planned to join the forces too. But at 19, his plans changed when he auditioned for Roadies just to win a bike.
Speaking on SCREEN's The Suvir Saran Show, Varun said he joined the show not for fame, but because he wanted a bike and his mother wouldn't buy him one. Since Roadies is one of India's longest-running reality shows, he thought that if he did well or won, he could finally get the bike himself.
The Call Me Bae actor said, 'Roadies is one of the oldest and the longest reality shows that has been running in India, and I purely went as I wanted a bike and mom was not giving it to me despite me requesting a lot. So I thought wow if I win the show, I do decently well on the show, I'll get a bike."
Varun Sood said he waited in line for six to eight hours during his Roadies audition and that stampedes often happened because so many people showed up. He shared that at the time, he was still planning to join the Army, so he wasn't too worried if the show didn't work out. But after getting an MTV contract, he started liking the entertainment world and decided to stay. 'Post the show, I got a contract with MTV, and I started liking that life," he said.
Varun Sood is an Indian actor and television personality known for his work in reality TV and digital content. He gained popularity through shows like MTV Roadies, MTV Splitsvilla, and MTV Ace of Space. His strong presence on these reality shows helped him build a loyal fan base. Varun has also appeared in web series such as Ragini MMS Returns 2, Karmma Calling and Call Me Bae and continues to work in digital projects and brand collaborations.

Schwarzkopf Professional Debuts 'Hair by Schwarzkopf Pro' with the Unveiling of this Year's Defining Hair Colour Trend: Lived-in

PRNewswire Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 20: Schwarzkopf Professional debuted the first edition of Hair by Schwarzkopf Pro on June 16 at St. Regis, Mumbai -- a landmark hair show celebrating global artistry, trend innovation, and creative exchange at the highest level. Backed by over a century of German hair colour expertise and salon innovation, the event marked a significant moment as Schwarzkopf Professional celebrated over 125 years of hair artistry globally and 25 years of inspiring hairdressing excellence in India. The show exemplified the brand's commitment to precision, performance, and pushing the boundaries of professional hairdressing worldwide. Hair by Schwarzkopf Pro marked a milestone collaboration between two international hair powerhouses -- Schwarzkopf Professional and Sassoon Academy came together for the first time in India to launch the 'Lived-in' Colour Trend. Hair legends Richard Ashforth, International Creative Director, and Matthew Carroll, Colour Director, at Sassoon Academy, led a precision-led segment that brought the brand's iconic artistry to the Indian stage for the very first time. Their presence marked a new moment for the Indian salon landscape -- one that merges international standards with local vision. At the heart of the show was the unveiling of Lived-in -- Schwarzkopf Professional's biggest colour trend of the year. Effortless, dimensional, and rooted in salon practicality, Lived-in is a colour trend designed for today's clients: those seeking modern tones with low-maintenance regrowth, seamless blending, and colour that evolves beautifully over time. The trend was brought to life by Schwarzkopf Professional's Hair Artist Kollektiv -- India's creative ambassadors -- through a series of striking looks themed in Lived-in Toffee, Lived-in Mocha and Lived-in Biskoff -- that redefine modern browns for every skin tone and hair texture. "The Lived-in trend is all about colour that feels personal and effortless," says Vaishakhi Haria - Meister, Hair Artist Kollektiv at Schwarzkopf Professional. "Think golden and chocolate browns that flatter Indian skin, created with easy yet impactful salon-friendly techniques for looks that grow out beautifully and suit every age." "To me, the Lived-in trend is colour that grows with you, natural, low maintenance, yet full of style," says Ryan D'Rozario - Hair Artist Kollektiv at Schwarzkopf Professional. "Soft gold highlights over a mocha base create a rich, warm dimension that flatters Indian skin and stays beautiful from day one to grow-out." "The Lived-in trend is about effortless dimension that grows out beautifully," says Deepak Jalhan - Meister, Hair Artist Kollektiv at Schwarzkopf Professional. "Inspired by the sunlit warmth of Indian landscapes. Using honeyed caramels and mochas with freehand highlights and root melts creates a seamless, low-maintenance blend that flatters deeper skin tones." At the heart of the trend is a modern brown palette, Mocha, Toffee, and Biskoff -- shades that bring softness, richness, and natural light play to Indian hair. These tones are versatile, flattering across complexions, and beautifully suited to all hair textures -- from fine to coarse, straight to wavy and curly -- making them the new go-to for colourists and clients alike. Schwarzkopf Professional's Hair Muse, Mira Kapoor, sported the trend and walked as the showstopper -- her signature Lived-in colour created by Vaishakhi Haria. Built on the trusted performance of the IGORA portfolio by Schwarzkopf Professional, the Lived-in technique draws from soft-root work, dimension-enhancing tones, and intuitive blending -- ideal for clients looking to extend their time between salon visits without compromising on style, coverage, or impact. The event was attended by renowned salons and leading salon chains, with artists, hairdressers, and salon owners coming together to witness and celebrate the grand unveiling. Meet woman, who is relative of India's richest actress Juhi Chawla, was once removed from movies due to..., her name is...

Juhi Chawla is one of the most well-known faces in Bollywood. Not just that, she is also the richest actress in Bollywood, as per the report by the Hurun Rich List 2024. Though the actress came from a background where no one was part of the industry, Juhi made a name for herself. Today, she is a prominent actress in Bollywood. However, do you know that Juhi's sister-in-law is also an actress? As beautiful as Juhi, her sister-in-law Madhoo Shah is a well-known Indian actress who has worked across Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema. She stepped into Bollywood in 1991 with the action-romance blockbuster Phool Aur Kaante, opposite Ajay Devgn. Just a year later, Madhoo shot to fame with the Tamil romantic thriller Roja, where she starred alongside Arvind Swamy. Over the years, Madhoo became a household name in the industry. However, many people don't know that Madhoo shares a close relationship with Hema Malini — she is her cousin — and her father was a producer. In an interview, Madhoo revealed she had to face several challenges despite coming from a background of artists. While speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Madhoo shared, 'My father was a producer. I am from Hema Malini's family; she is my cousin. My mother was a dancer. My whole background was around dance, music, and films. But whatever I did, I did it myself. First of all, it was a struggle that I had to tell my father that I wanted to become an actor, because he wanted me to become a doctor. Second, I did not have support, and I did not have confidence. I felt that if I told people that I wanted to become an actor, people would laugh. I had to get out of self-doubt. I did not even know how to approach someone for work. All this was a big struggle for me. First of all, I got rejection.' She added, 'My father was a producer, so he had a film Awaargi, which had Anil Kapoor, Govinda, and Meenakshi. I had gone for the song recording of that film. When a producer saw me there, he told my father that he wanted to cast me in a film. But my father got angry about it. But then I told my father to say yes. Then he got me trained. But when the film started, after four days only, he felt that I was not ready, and I was replaced.' When Madhoo came to know about her replacement, her heart broke. However, she did not lose hope and turned out to be one of the most well-known actresses of the '90s.

Jackson Wang Nails Katrina Kaif's Chikni Chameli Hook Step In Viral Video

Last Updated: K-pop star Jackson Wang grooves to Katrina Kaif's Chikni Chameli during his India visit. Watch the viral video that has fans loving his Bollywood flair! K-pop sensation Jackson Wang is wrapping up his recent India visit with a heart full of memories and a bag full of viral moments. The 31-year-old GOT7 member was in Mumbai as part of the promotions for his much-anticipated album Magic Man 2, which drops on July 18. And while the music world eagerly awaits his next release, Indian fans were treated to a different kind of magic — one that involved Bollywood dance moves and street food. A video that's now winning hearts on Instagram shows Jackson effortlessly grooving to the iconic Chikni Chameli track from the 2012 film Agneepath. Dressed in an all-black outfit, the singer-rapper delivered the hook step with surprising ease. Fans were left wondering — who taught Jackson these moves? 'Our boy knows how to excel at everything," read one caption, perfectly capturing the sentiment. The song, originally performed by Katrina Kaif with Hrithik Roshan also featuring in the film, seems to have inspired Jackson. And it doesn't stop there. During his stay, Jackson met Hrithik Roshan and his family, sparking a hilarious rumour that he was joining the Krrish franchise. He later clarified in an interview with NDTV, 'I was only joking. Hrithik is a good friend. I admire him a lot, but no, I'm not a part of Krrish or any other film at the moment. I was just trolling — and it became headlines the next day!" Beyond Bollywood, Jackson's India diary was packed with celebrity encounters and cultural moments. He met musical legends like Adnan Sami, Salim Merchant, and Pritam, and posed with stars like Sonu Nigam, Tiger Shroff, and Karan Johar. He also got a taste of local cuisine, sharing a picture of him enjoying dahi puri with the caption, 'Bahut bahut dhanyawad. What a wonderful trip. Will definitely be back for Magic Man 2 to perform."
