The initiative aims to provide essential food supplies to those in need, reinforcing Edita's commitment to social responsibility and community support.
“This initiative is about standing in solidarity with the people of Gaza. We call on other Egyptian companies to join us in maximizing the impact, said Eng. Ahmed Samy, CEO of Edita Food Industries – Snacking and Bakery Business Unit.

Each ministry is developing detailed plans to address various scenarios, he emphasized, including the availability of petroleum and natural gas, the continuity of food supply chains, and the provision of essential goods even if the crisis extends for a long period. The Cabinet spokesperson further confirmed that the state has been working for months to ensure energy security, by equipping and connecting three liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels to the national natural gas grid, and the arrival of a fourth vessel soon to enhance the capacity to import LNG, and modernizing the energy sector's infrastructure. Homsany added that 'The current plan was prepared in advance to meet summer needs, and according to the Prime Minister's statements, electricity needs during the summer are fully secured and there are no concerns about power outages.' The monetary policy adopted by the Central Bank of Egypt relies on a flexible exchange rate system, he noted, which allows for a natural balance in the market between ups and downs. He explained: 'The monetary policy has succeeded in eliminating the parallel market and providing the full need for foreign currency, as our foreign exchange resources have become consistent with our needs for the third consecutive month.' The gains were spread across key segments, with income tax revenues rising by 21% to EGP 259.6 billion and value-added tax (VAT) climbing 39% to EGP 573 billion. Property tax receipts surged nearly 59% year-on-year, while trade taxes grew 74% to reach EGP 79.2 billion. The government also pointed to the benefits of digitalisation, automation, and a broader tax base as driving forces behind the growth. Egyptian ministers visit mega date farm project to boost agricultural exports

Egypt's Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hani Sewilam, and Minister of Agriculture, Alaa Farouk, traveled to New Valley governorate to inspect progress on what is expected to become the world's largest date farm—part of a national initiative to expand agricultural exports and transform desert land into productive farmland. The visit aligns with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi's directive to plant 2.5 million date palms in the western desert region, positioning Egypt as a global leader in date production. During the tour, both ministers planted palm trees to mark the project's advancement and reaffirm the government's commitment to agricultural development. The ministers also visited the Central Groundwater Laboratory and the Sustainable Development Center for New Valley Resources—research institutions affiliated with the irrigation and agriculture ministries. Minister Sewilam underscored the importance of equipping laboratories with state-of-the-art technology and building technical capacity to enhance groundwater monitoring and desert water resource management. Farouk called for continued technical support for local farmers and the expansion of agricultural outreach programs to raise productivity and promote sustainable practices. He added that wheat yields have improved significantly, with productivity increasing by nearly one ardeb (around 150 kg) per feddan, helping Egypt exceed last year's wheat procurement by over 500,000 tonnes.
