Boost gaming performance on your Samsung smartphone with Game Booster+ module

Mint2 days ago

Samsung smartphones are not always suggested for gaming because of their comparatively worse gaming performance. But Samsung has an ace up its sleeve, Game Booster+ is a Good Lock module that lets you tune performance per game. Here's how you can install Game Booster+ on your Samsung mobile and use it. Download the Good Lock app from the Google Play Store on your Samsung phone. Launch the Good Lock app, locate the Game Booster+ module and install it on your phone. Launch the Game Booster+ from the Good Lock app or the App screen. Approve the required permissions to use the app. You can now choose one of the features listed below.
Controller key remapping: This is the best feature who love to play fast-paced shooter games on a smartphone using a controller. You can connect a PlayStation or Xbox controller, you can set custom button layouts easily and create multiple profiles. This lets you customise every button and trigger on the controller to make it feel just right.
Advanced GPU settings: Game Booster+ lets you fine-tune GPU settings per game for a much smoother gameplay experience. You can increase the resolution, set the frame rate and more in the Game Booster module. And these settings can be adjusted per game for flexibility.
This also lets you optimise the battery life if you are in for a marathon gaming session. Features like PreTransform in Vulkan games help lighten the GPU load. And the Texture Filter lets you choose to prioritise performance or visual quality to get a much better experience.
Game Categorisation: Not every app gets automatically recognised as a game by default. Game Booster+ can let you manually mark any app as a game. This helps in improving performance in a few emulators which do not appear as a game to the system.
Game Booster+ works on Samsung Galaxy phones running One UI 7 or higher, including the latest S series, Note and Fold series. It's available through the Good Lock app in the Galaxy Store. If your phone is not compatible with the Game Booster+ module, you may not see it listed in the Good Lock app.

Samsung confirms Galaxy Buds Core launching soon in India, possibly before Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7

Samsung has all but confirmed the impending launch of its new wireless earphones, the Galaxy Buds Core, in India. The South Korean tech giant's social media teasers, featuring the tagline 'let the music move you to the core,' cleverly hint at the name, which has been circulating in rumours for some time. This once again proves how hard it is to maintain product secrecy in the current era. Support pages for the Galaxy Buds Core recently went live in various markets, including India. The earphones have also been spotted on the Bureau of India Standards (BIS) website, a crucial certification for electronics launched in the country. Samsung has now teased the release on X (formerly Twitter) with a post stating, "Brace yourself! The music is about to hit harder. Feel every note, every drop, every beat – louder, clearer, deeper. Dropping soon!" advertisementThe accompanying product silhouette in the teaser offers a clear look at the Galaxy Buds Core's design. The charging case appears strikingly similar to the existing Galaxy Buds 3, while the earbuds themselves seem to adopt a styling akin to the Galaxy Buds FE, suggesting a stem-less design. This would be a return to Samsung's more compact, utilitarian aesthetic seen in most of its earphones before the recent Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro, which introduced a stem layout. However, earlier rumours had suggested a stem design for the Buds Core, so we'll have to wait and watch on the final form factor. The Galaxy Buds Core are widely expected to succeed the 2023 Galaxy Buds FE, positioning them as a more affordable alternative to the Galaxy Buds 3. It's currently unclear if a separate Galaxy Buds FE 2 will also be released. Speculation suggests the Core earphones will feature a larger battery for improved longevity, along with enhancements in audio quality and active noise cancellation (ANC) capabilities. With Samsung's official announcement, more details, including the exact launch timeline, are expected anytime now. Considering the "FE" history, the launch of the long-rumored Galaxy S25 FE might also be on the horizon. This new announcement also confirms a busy summer for Samsung, with the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, rumored for July 9, set to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and potentially an even more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE. Stay tuned for further updates.

Swiggy Makes Foray Into Concierge Segment Under Brand Name 'Crew'; Details Here

Last Updated: Swiggy's Crew offers highly personalised services, including assistance with international driving permits, bespoke travel planning, and curated gift sourcing within budgets. Swiggy has entered the lifestyle and travel concierge space with the beta launch of a new app called Crew, aimed at catering to India's growing base of premium consumers. Currently available to select users on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, Crew is being developed under Swiggy's parent company, Bundl Technologies Pvt Ltd. The app offers highly personalised services, including assistance with international driving permits, bespoke travel planning, and curated gift sourcing within specific budgets. Crew is Swiggy's latest push to diversify its offerings beyond food delivery and marks its second known attempt to reach affluent users. Last year, Swiggy piloted Rare Life, a subscription-based premium concierge service that provided access to high-end experiences. While Rare Life never became a standalone app, Crew appears to be a more formal and structured initiative. On the B2B front, Swiggy also rolled out Assure, a procurement platform enabling restaurants to source kitchen and pantry supplies, directly competing with Zomato's Hyperpure. US may target Samsung, Hynix, TSMC operations in China

By Karen Freifeld and Alexandra Alper The U.S. Department of Commerce is considering revoking authorizations granted in recent years to global chipmakers Samsung , SK Hynix and TSMC , making it more difficult for them to receive U.S. goods and technology at their plants in China, according to people familiar with the matter. The chances of the United States withdrawing the authorizations are unclear. But with such a move, it would be harder for foreign chipmakers to operate in China, where they produce semiconductors used in a wide range of industries. A White House official said the United States was "just laying the groundwork" in case the truce reached between the two countries fell apart. But the official expressed confidence that the trade agreement would go forward and that rare earths would flow from China, as agreed. "There is currently no intention of deploying this tactic," the official said. "It's another tool we want in our toolbox in case either this agreement falls through or any other catalyst throws a wrench in bilateral relations." Shares of U.S. chip equipment makers that supply plants in China fell when the Wall Street Journal first reported the news earlier on Friday. KLA Corp dropped 2.4%, Lam Research fell 1.9% and Applied Materials sank 2%. Shares of Micron , a major competitor to Samsung and SK Hynix in the memory chip sector, rose 1.5%. A TSMC spokesman declined comment. Samsung and Hynix did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Lam Research, KLA and Applied Materials did not immediately respond, either. In October 2022, after the United States placed sweeping restrictions on U.S. chipmaking equipment to China, it gave foreign manufacturers like Samsung and Hynix letters authorizing them to receive goods. In 2023 and 2024, the companies received what is known as Validated End User status in order to continue the trade. A company with VEU status is able to receive designated goods from a U.S. company without the supplier obtaining multiple export licenses to ship to them. VEU status enables entities to receive U.S.-controlled products and technologies "more easily, quickly and reliably," as the Commerce Department website puts it. The VEU authorizations come with conditions, a person familiar with the matter said, including prohibitions on certain equipment and reporting requirements. "Chipmakers will still be able to operate in China," a Commerce Department spokesperson said in a statement when asked about the possible revocations. "The new enforcement mechanisms on chips mirror licensing requirements that apply to other semiconductor companies that export to China and ensure the United States has an equal and reciprocal process." Industry sources said that if it became more difficult for U.S. semiconductor equipment companies to ship to foreign multinationals, it would only help domestic Chinese competitors. "It's a gift," one said.
