Good morning booklovers! This is USA TODAY's books reporter Clare Mulroy and I'm here to bring you this week's news in books.
I've got a heartwarming story to tell you, just in time for Valentine's Day. Last week I wrote about a book that made me cry ('This is a Love Story' by Jessica Soffer) and this week I received an email from a reader that nearly kickstarted the waterworks all over again. Soffer's book delves into the complicated, beautiful mess of long-term love. It's never simple, but it is human and it is transcendent. In my review, I wrote that reading Soffer's book reminded me of a quote on a Central Park bench that reads 'How perfect is this, how lucky are we?'
You can imagine my surprise and delight when I received an email from Barbara and Stan, the couple who commissioned that bench plaque. In sharing a little of their love story, Barbara told me how special it felt to mark their new marriage, the second for both of them, and a time of health hardships with something concrete overlooking the water in the park. She wanted a quote that would be "something for everyone to interpret for themselves," and she hopes for this novel to become a part of their Central Park connection now, too.
The power of books and literature to connect never ceases to amaze me.

In other book news, 'Deep End' by Ali Hazelwood tops the USA TODAY Best-selling Booklist this week. The romance author is best known for her 'STEMinist' love stories like 'The Love Hypothesis' and "Love on the Brain' as well as 'Bride,' her foray into paranormal romance. Readers are saying 'Deep End,' which centers on two student athletes, is Hazelwood's 'spiciest' yet.

Morgan Wallen sets negative headlines ablaze during 'I'm the Problem' tour opener
Morgan Wallen marked the opening night of his "I'm The Problem" Tour with a fiery performance at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, including what seemed to be his reaction to recent news headlines. According to multiple videos from fans in attendance at the June 20 concert, Wallen displayed a montage of negative headlines − including one that read "Morgan Wallen breaks COVID mask protocols" − during his performance of "I'm the Problem." After the song's performance, Wallen appeared to pour gasoline on the stage and then picked up a lighter, cueing a pyrotechnic show. Another user on TikTok wrote, "Morgan Wallen claps back at all the negative headlines and sets the stage on 'fire.'" Wallen has spent his fair share of time in the headlines. Earlier this year, he caused quite a stir by making an early exit from "Saturday Night Live" during a March episode of the NBC sketch series. In an unusual moment, he hugged Oscar-winning host Mikey Madison during the signoff before walking off stage and then taking to his Instagram stories to post a photo of a plane and wrote, "Get me to God's country." Morgan Wallen teases new album 'I'm The Problem' and announces 2025 tour The walk-off moment sparked a wave of criticism for the "Just In Case" hitmaker, who pleaded guilty last year to misdemeanor reckless endangerment after throwing a chair off the roof of a bar. In 2020, Wallen was uninvited from "SNL" after videos surfaced that showed him partying without a mask amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The next year, he shocked the music industry when he was captured on tape in a TMZ video using a derogatory racial slur commonly used to describe Black people. The "Kick Myself" singer will also perform Saturday, June 21. Wallen's tour is named after his fourth studio album, in its fourth week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 top albums chart. His previous album, "One Thing at a Time," spent 19 weeks at No. 1 — the most weeks any country album has ever logged at No. 1. "One Thing" followed "Dangerous," which spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on its way to becoming Billboard's most successful album of the century so far. Rebel Wilson's 'Pitch Perfect 4' prediction makes Anna Camp giddy
We've got some aca-awesome news for "Pitch Perfect" fans: Rebel Wilson is practically warming up for a fourth chapter, as she's convinced there's more in store for the Bellas. Wilson told The Guardian that Universal is working on scripts for another verse in the song that is the "Pitch Perfect" franchise. 'You're basically announcing 'Pitch Perfect 4' will be happening … at some point," Anna Camp teases Wilson while promoting "Bride Hard" in an interview with USA TODAY. The action comedy (in theaters now) reunites the two "Pitch Perfect" stars. In 2017's "Pitch Perfect 3," the a cappella singing group − also comprised of Anna Kendrick, BrittanySnow and Hailee Steinfeld − reunited to perform at an overseas USO show. 'I don't know," Wilson tells USA TODAY. "I have a feeling it could shoot next year, but we'll see.' 'Oh, my God, I hope you're right!" an elated Camp responds. "That'd be exciting.' 'The fans have been so eager for it," Wilson says. "It's had such a great life on streaming platforms like Netflix. There's so many people around the world who are fans of these movies and want to see us, and we're all legit real-life friends. We all want to come back and do it. I guess it's just the question of the script.' The story is also key for Camp as well. 'If Kay Cannon (writes) up an amazing script," Camp says, "we'd all be there with bells on ready to sing our little hearts out.'
