Lizzo baffles fans with bizarre first pitch at Dodgers game after opening up about Ozempic use

Daily Maila day ago

Lizzo was on hand with an unusual first pitch before the Los Angeles Dodgers' game against the San Diego Padres on Thursday.
After being invited to take part in the traditional pregame ceremony at Dodger Stadium, the 37-year-old singer left fans baffled with her strange approach to pitching.
She first took her place on the mound as Dodgers star Mookie Betts waited in preparation to take the catch, only to run forward while pretending to throw the ball twice.
Lizzo then turned around and ran back to the mound, before finally throwing a pitch into Betts which bounced before finding his glove.
A number of fans were left confused by her two fake throws, with one writing on X: 'The longest, most pointless and stupidest first pitch ever'.
Another commented: 'So stupid. Stop trying to make it about you'.
While a third simply asked: 'What the f*** is this?'
Others, however, saw the funny side of Lizzo's twist on pitching.
'Love it,' one fan commented while another said 'still better than 50 Cent', referencing the rapper's infamous first pitch at a 2014 New York Mets game, widely considered one of the worst of all time.

This comes after she admitted to briefly using Ozempic to aid in her extreme weight loss transformation.
Lizzo talked about her Ozempic use during Thursday's episode of Trisha Paytas's Just Trish podcast.
The singer revealed she started to take the GLP-1 medication at the beginning of her weight loss journey in 2023, but soon came to the conclusion that it wouldn't help her in the long term.
Lizzo said: 'I tried everything. Ozempic works because you eat less food, yeah? So if you eat right, it makes you feel full. But if you can just do that on your own and get mind over matter, it's the same thing.'
Many of her fans turned on her after she 'lied' for months and previously denied Ozempic allegations, claiming she achieved her much slimmer figure through 'weight lifting and calorie deficit'.
She also added that she started getting results when she stopped being vegan after many years of not eating meat.
Lizzo explained: 'What did it for me is, it was not being vegan. Because when I was vegan, I was consuming a lot of fake meats. I was eating a lot of bread. I was eating a lot of rice and I had to eat a lot of it to stay full.
'When I started actually eating whole foods and eating, like, beef and chicken and fish, I was actually full and not expanding my stomach by putting a lot of fake things in there that wasn't actually filling me up.'
Criticism: Social media users reacted strongly to her Ozempic confession
Supportive: However, other fans praised her for admitting it despite previously denying the rumors

Cruz Beckham appears to take new swipe at brother Brooklyn amid family feud with cryptic post

CRUZ Beckham has appeared to take a new swipe at his brother Brooklyn amid the family's feud. Victoria and David Beckham 's youngest son Cruz has left his fans stunned by the subtle swipe at his older brother. 6 6 6 The Beckhams are currently embroiled in a family feud involving Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz, with the couple's relationship thought to be at the core of the rift. Taking to his Instagram stories, Cruz, 20, wrote "The truth will unfold" alongside some cryptic lyrics. He shared some lyrics from The Beatles' hit The End. "Love you, love you, love you, love you // Love. "And in the end, the love you take // Is equal to the love you make," the lyrics read. The song was from the band's 1969 album Abbey Road, before the band broke up. This comes as the Beckhams continue to be embroiled in a huge family feud. The famous family are yet to speak publicly about their family row, but there have been several digs thrown around on social media. Brooklyn even publicly wished Nicola's brother a happy birthday recently, not long after snubbing his dad's milestone 50th. He snubbed his dad's birthday entirely but failing to attend any of the family celebrations. Brooklyn Beckham's family rift deepens as he turns back on UK by splashing out £11m on LA mansion with wife Nicola Peltz Brooklyn failed to attend David 's birthday celebrations weeks ago, despite being in London at the time shooting a big campaign with posh fashion brand Moncler. He also failed to post a Father's Day tribute recently. Brooklyn has also added a floral tattoo to his chest, swamping the "mama's boy" tribute to his mum Victoria that previously took pride of place. This all comes amid claims Victoria Beckham left Nicola in tears on her wedding day in 2022. Sources told People magazine that Victoria allegedly 'hijacked' the first dance at Brooklyn's Palm Beach wedding. 'Marc Anthony, who is a friend of the Beckhams, offered to perform as a gift at the wedding,' one source said. 'Before the song began, Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, 'The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up…Victoria Beckham!'' Nicola reportedly 'felt that Victoria ruined her wedding, and couldn't understand why'. Another source said guests were shocked when Victoria started slow dancing with Brooklyn, leaving Nicola in tears. 6 6 6

Tens of millions in US face dangerously hot weather in rare June heatwave

Tens of millions of people across the midwest and east braced on Sunday for another sweltering day of dangerously hot temperatures as a rare June heatwave continued to grip parts of the US. Most of the north-eastern quadrant of the country from Minnesota to Maine was under some type of heat advisory on Sunday. So were parts of Arkansas, Tennessee, Louisiana and Mississippi. The temperature had already reached 80F (26.6C) in the Chicago area by 7.30am on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. Forecasts called for heat indices of between 100 and 105F. The heat index in Pittsburgh was expected to top 105F. The temperature in Columbus, Ohio, was 77F at 8.30am. Highs there were expected to reach 97F with a heat index around 104F. Forecasts called for a heat index of 100F in Philadelphia on Sunday, with a 108F heat index on Monday. The city's public health department declared a heat emergency starting at noon on Sunday and ending on Wednesday evening. Officials directed residents to air-conditioned libraries, community centers and other locations, and set up a 'heat line' staffed by medical professionals to discuss conditions and illnesses made worse by the heat. At Lincoln Financial Field, officials said each fan attending Sunday's Fifa World Cup match would be allowed to bring in one 20oz plastic bottle of water. Forecasters warned the heat index in Cromwell, Connecticut, would reach 105F on Sunday, which could make life brutal for golfers Tommy Fleetwood and Keegan Bradley as they compete during the final round of the Travelers Championship. Elly De La Cruz, a Cincinnati Reds shortstop playing against the Cardinals in St Louis, and Trent Thornton, a Seattle Mariners reliever facing the Cubs in Chicago, got sick on Saturday while playing in the extreme heat. Sunday marked the second straight day of extreme heat across the midwest and east coast. Heat indices on Saturday hit 103F in Chicago and 101F in Madison, Wisconsin, turning that city's annual naked bike ride into a sticky and sweaty affair. Lynn Watkins, 53, is the director of Sacred Hearts daycare in Sun Prairie, a Madison suburb. She said that she tried to sit outside on Saturday to grill but it was so hot she had to go inside. She plans to cancel all outdoor activities at the daycare on Monday with highs around 93F forecast. 'I can't stand being outside when it's like this,' she said. 'I just want to sit in my air conditioning.' Minneapolis baked under a heat index of 106F. The actual temperature was 96F, which broke the previous record for the date of 95F set in 1910, according to the weather service. The heat is expected to persist into the coming week, with the hottest temperatures shifting eastward. New York City is expected to see highs around 95F on Monday and Tuesday. Boston is on track for highs approaching 100F on Tuesday, and temperatures in Washington DC were expected to hit 100F on Tuesday and Wednesday. Meteorologists say a phenomenon known as a heat dome, a large area of high pressure in the upper atmosphere that traps heat and humidity, is responsible for the extreme temperatures. Mark Gehring, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Sullivan, Wisconsin, said this level of heat is not uncommon during the summer months in the US, although it usually takes hold in mid-July or early August. The most unusual facet of this heatwave is the sheer amount of territory sweltering under it, he said. 'It's basically everywhere east of the Rockies,' he said, referring to the Rocky Mountains. 'That is unusual, to have this massive area of high dewpoints and heat.'

Jennifer Aniston reveals career 'bucket list' ambition... over a month after 'stalker' scare

She is best known for her role on one of the biggest sitcoms on TV, but Friends star Jennifer Aniston has now revealed her hopes to appear on another big stage. In an interview with People, the actress, 56, revealed her desire to perform on Broadway. 'I definitely want to do a Broadway play,' she told the outlet. 'That's on my bucket list.' The problem is, the actress, who has off-Broadway experience from her early career, needs time to focus on 'finding the right piece, the right material.' 'But I absolutely have to do a play on Broadway,' she stressed. The interview appears to be the first she has conducted since an alleged stalker trespassed into Aniston's home last month. The busy actress, who has done both TV and film, also admitted she is 'forcing' herself to take a break. 'I'm a bit of a workaholic, so I'm forcing myself to try to take some time to travel and not work,' she said. It comes a month after Aniston endured a major scare at her home. Last month, a man named Jimmy Wayne Carwyle allegedly trespassed onto Aniston's Bel-Air property by ramming through the front gates - with the actress being home at the time of the incident. He was arrested by LAPD officers after being apprehended by Aniston's own security team - but a subsequent ruling declared that Carwyle is mentally unfit to stand trial. 'He is not competent to stand trial so although I know it's not the outcome my client would have preferred at this time I would submit on those two reports,' public defender Robert Krauss informed the court during a hearing last month following a second analysis that concluded Carwyle was mentally unfit to continue with the case. Deputy District Attorney William Donovan said: 'The people will also submit.' And with that, Judge Cavalluzzi said from the bench, 'The court finds that the defendant is not presently competent to stand trial. Criminal proceedings are suspended.' An 'interest of justice' hearing was scheduled for June 26 when Aniston or her attorney Blair Berk will be able to provide impact statements. A more detailed report on Carwyle will be compiled by independent analyst Dr. Tumu at a cost of $1,100 to determine how to proceed with treatment for him. Carwyle was arrested by LAPD officers on May 5 after ramming his car into the front gates of the Friends star's breathtaking $21 million hilltop Bel-Air home. Prosecutors say Carwyle 'repeatedly' harassed Aniston between March 1, 2023 to May 5, 2025, sending her 'unwanted social media, voicemail, and email messages.' In addition to stalking and vandalism charges, Carwyle was facing a charge for aggravating the threat of great bodily harm.
