If you've stepped outside lately — or just happen to glance at the weather app — you know the East Coast is about to become a convection oven.
Record-breaking temps are creeping toward the triple digits, humidity levels are rising and unless you plan to spend the next month hiding in your fridge, it's time to get strategic.
Enter the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Fan. It's a sleek, portable misting fan that feels less like a gadget and more like a small miracle. And in a rare bit of perfect timing, it's on sale before Amazon Prime Day. (which is taking place on July 8 to 11). That's right: summer salvation is just one click away.
It's no surprise that most portable fans are either underpowered, oversized or worse, just plain ugly. But, the FlexBreeze HydroGo is a different breed. Designed by Shark (yes, the same brand that made your vacuum obsession socially acceptable), this cooling fan delivers high-velocity airflow, ultra-fine mist and a cordless runtime of up to 12 hours — all wrapped in a modern, minimal form that actually looks good on your patio.
Or desk. Or wherever the heat is stalking you.
Amazon
So what's the big deal? For starters, the evaporative misting feature isn't a gimmick. It works with its built-in 150 ml water tank sprays out an ultra-fine mist that drops the surrounding air temp without drenching your skin or furniture. Think of it as personal climate control, minus the energy-guzzling AC unit.
And, speaking of energy savings, this fan can make your home feel cooler without cranking your thermostat to Arctic levels. After perusing Amazon reviews, shoppers have raved about comfortably raising their AC from 67°F to 74°F while using the HydroGo, which is no small feat during a humid summer meltdown.
It also comes with five fan speeds, from gentle breeze to full-on blast mode, and two mist settings. This allows you to customize your cool-down experience like you're setting a cocktail menu. Prefer a continuous mist while you work from home? You can accomplish this, all thanks to this Shark fan.
If you want interval sprays for a relaxed outdoor dinner, this fan is made for your backyard's al fresco moment. The fan head tilts, the settings lock (so no accidental changes mid-mist), and there's even a battery-level indicator to keep things idiot-proof.
But here's where the HydroGo really earns its stripes: it's built for real life. This model is rain-resistant (IPX5 rated), UV-hardened and surprisingly quiet at just 36 decibels. That's library-level hush.
What's more, it's rugged enough for camping, subtle enough for a bedroom and stylish enough to sit on your patio without ruining the vibe. Because it's fully cordless and weighs just a few pounds, you can bring it anywhere the heat dares to follow: the beach, a backyard BBQ, a stifling home office, even a stuffy subway platform if you're bold.
Now let's talk numbers. Right now, before the chaos of Prime Day hits, the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo is on sale for $120, down from its regular $150. That's a rare pre-Prime Day price drop, and if history (and summer shopping trends) are any indication, it won't stay in stock for long.
Once the masses start panic-buying cooling gadgets, you'll be lucky to find a fan that isn't neon plastic and powered by three AA batteries.
So skip the Prime Day rush, grab it while it's still discounted, and take control of your personal climate before Mother Nature makes you her sweaty hostage. Because in the battle against this East Coast heatwave, the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo might just be your most stylish secret weapon.

Disney & Amazon Advertising Units Team Up: 'We're Breaking Down Traditional Barriers Between Content And Commerce'
The advertising divisions of Amazon and Disney are joining forces to open up new opportunities for streaming buyers. Under the partnership, Disney's Real-Time Ad Exchange and Amazon's demand-side platform (DSP) are being integrated. The team-up will give advertisers direct access to Disney premium inventory on Disney+, ESPN, Hulu and other platforms. Buyers will also be able to gain data from both companies that will make targeting more precise and incomes more efficient, the companies said. More from Deadline Netflix Adds Yahoo To Its Roster Of Programmatic Advertising Partners Amazon Ads & Roku Set Landmark Pact Giving Brands Access To 80% Of Connected-TV Households Byron Allen Reaches Settlement With McDonald's In Lawsuit Claiming Racial Bias In Advertising The initiative was announced at Cannes Lions, a day after Amazon's DSP also forged a major pact with Roku, giving advertisers access to more than 80% of U.S. connected-TV households. The Amazon-Disney pact will deliver curated deal packages through products like Disney's Magic Words contextual targeting and the upcoming connection to Disney Select, Disney's proprietary data offering. Advertisers on Amazon DSP will also soon be able to create specialized campaigns matching Disney's audience data with browsing, streaming and purchase insights from Amazon Ads. Enabling that specialization will be a direct collaboration between Amazon Publisher Cloud and Disney Compass, a data collaboration platform providing seamless access to all its planning, activation, and measurement capabilities. In an example provided by Amazon and Disney, a pet food brand could reach viewers who both watch Disney programming and have an interest in pet products sold on Kelly MacLean, VP of Amazon DSP at Amazon Ads, called the collaboration 'a significant leap forward in advertising effectiveness.' She added, 'We're breaking down traditional barriers between content and commerce signals, allowing advertisers to deliver more meaningful experiences to viewers. By connecting Disney's premium content with Amazon's deep consumer understanding, we're creating advertising that works better for everyone – brands reach the right audiences, publishers maximize their inventory value, and viewers see more relevant ads.' By hooking up with Amazon, 'we're enabling greater accessibility to inventory and audience signals that translate into meaningful results for advertisers leveraging Amazon DSP,' said Matt Barnes, VP of Programmatic Sales, Disney Advertising. 'Disney has been on a decades-long journey to unlock data and insights that reflect how our audiences watch and engage with our content. That knowledge has helped us move the needle for our clients and deliver better results–and this integration raises the bar for the wider industry.' Amazon and Disney will begin implementing the integrations with a select group of advertisers in the coming months. Disney+ inventory is also now available through Amazon DSP in France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Turkiye, and the UK – allowing Amazon DSP customers to access it in those territories. Amazon Ends Speedy Delivery by Kia Soul in Favor of Gig Workers
(Bloomberg) -- Inc. is ending an experiment that saw drivers in Kia Souls make same-day deliveries and will rely on its network of gig-economy workers instead. Security Concerns Hit Some of the World's 'Most Livable Cities' One Architect's Quest to Save Mumbai's Heritage From Disappearing JFK AirTrain Cuts Fares 50% This Summer to Lure Riders Off Roads NYC Congestion Toll Cuts Manhattan Gridlock by 25%, RPA Reports Taser-Maker Axon Triggers a NIMBY Backlash in its Hometown In the test, Amazon contract delivery firms in several US states deployed drivers for four- or five-hours shifts in the boxy little Kia Corp. hatchbacks. The trial, which began to roll out in 2023, gave the world's largest online retailer more control over deliveries. If widely deployed, it also could have reduced the company's reliance on Amazon Flex drivers, who use their own cars to ferry orders to customers' homes. Those gig workers will now pick up the affected routes. Owners of the participating Delivery Service Partners, as Amazon calls its contract delivery firms, were recently notified that the quick-delivery program will be winding down over the next few months, the company confirmed. 'After more than a year of gathering feedback from customers, DSPs, and teams at Same-Day Delivery facilities, we've determined that the DSP model isn't currently the right fit for Same-Day Delivery and we'll be moving away from it,' Amazon spokesperson Steve Kelly said in an emailed statement. 'We appreciate the contributions from participating DSPs and their teams, and we'll provide support throughout this transition.' Amazon tested the concept in Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Ohio, Texas and Washington. Kelly said the affected DSPs can operate other Amazon routes and that the company will help drivers get jobs with other firms, if necessary. The program's vehicles were rentals and will be returned to the vendor, he said. Amazon, which started out relying exclusively on the US Postal Service and other carriers to get goods to customers, in the last decade built a sprawling logistics operation centered around small businesses. These DSPs lease blue Amazon Prime-branded vans and employ the drivers, who might deliver 200 or more packages a day. Flex drivers opt in via a smartphone app and typically deliver packages from Amazon's same-day delivery depots. Both programs have been criticized by workers' advocates who contend that the drivers, operating at Amazon's direction, should be classified as company employees. We've got two big sale holidays in July this year: the Fourth of July and Amazon Prime Day. They're coming up fast, which means big savings on things like TVs, laptops and home essentials. Now is your chance if you've been considering upgrading your old, lumpy mattress. Top brands in the online mattress industry are running major sales that can save you hundreds off your next bed. Everything from budget beds to dense memory foam to durable hybrids are on sale. I've been testing and reviewing beds for years, and during that time, I've seen just about every sale brands offer, so I know what's a good deal. I also know what brands tend to offer as their peak sale each holiday. We'll update this page as sales change throughout the holiday and into July Prime Day, so check back before the deals are gone. Best overall July Fourth mattress sales DreamCloud DreamCloud makes some of the most affordable luxury-style mattresses out there. DreamCloud also runs some of the best holiday sales you can get. For the Fourth of July, you can get up to 60% off mattresses and score $599 in accessories with your order. A queen DreamCloud hybrid mattress is only $699. Details 20% off smart beds See at Sleep Number Close Amerisleep Amerisleep is offering $600 off mattresses when you use the code JULY600. $600 off is on the more generous side of the sales I've seen, so if you're interested in Amerisleep, now is a good time. The AS3, Amerisleep's most popular mattress, is only $1,149 for a queen. Details Save $600 on mattresses with code JULY600 See at Amerisleep Close Leesa Leesa's July Fourth sale will save you 25% on mattresses, including the Leesa Original for only $999. The Leesa Sapira Chill, which I recommend to hot sleepers who want a comfy pillow-top, is now $1,698. You can also get 25% off bases, 25% off bedding and up to 30% off the Sapira adjustable bed bundle. No code is required; the discounts are automatically applied at checkout. Details 25% off select mattresses See at Leesa Close Is July Fourth a good time to buy a mattress? Right now is as good a time as ever to buy your next bed. I've been doing this long enough to know the standard sales from each brand, and I can tell you that these sales match those offered on President's Day and Memorial Day. That also means that if you can't afford a mattress right now, you can just catch the next holiday. Most brands run sales within a set range for every season. For example, Saatva's best sale is generally $600 off mattresses, while Nectar often runs up to 50% off sales for its beds. Should you shop these July Fourth mattress deals or wait for Amazon Prime Day? Amazon Prime Day starts on July 8, and we expect plenty of mattress deals across Amazon. There's a good chance that many online bed brands will extend their July 4th sales to compete with Amazon's holiday. If you're looking for beds specially sold on Amazon, like Rolanstar, Siena or the Ashley Home Signature, then waiting for Prime Day is a good idea. However, if you want a bed from a brand like Saatva, Casper or Purple, I wouldn't wait because I doubt sales will be significantly better than right now. Most brands have a set sale range they offer across holidays.
