Enforcement Directorate quizzes DK Suresh for 7 hours in laundering case linked to Aishwarya
Bengaluru: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) Monday questioned former Bangalore Rural MP DK Suresh, brother of deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar, for nearly seven hours in connection with a money laundering case involving Aishwarya Gowda . Emerging from ED's office around 6pm, Suresh told reporters that officials had sought details regarding Aishwarya, who is under investigation for duping individuals by allegedly misusing his name. "They asked me about the ongoing money laundering case involving Aishwarya and others. I clarified that Aishwarya falsely claimed to be my sister and misused my name. I had no financial dealings with her," Suresh said. "She collected money from people using my name. Except for once attending a Rajyotsava event she organised, I had no other association with her. I've already filed a police complaint against her," he added. He has been asked to appear again on July 7, Suresh said, adding he would fully cooperate. The former MP had been summoned by ED on June 19 but he requested a rescheduled appearance citing prior commitments. He arrived at the ED office around 11am Monday, escorted by police amid tight security. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Eat 1 Teaspoon Every Night, See What Happens A Week Later [Video] getfittoday Undo Meanwhile, ED announced that it had provisionally attached properties worth over Rs 3.9 crore belonging to Aishwarya under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The assets include Rs 2 crore in immovable properties and Rs 1.9 crore in movable assets. Aishwarya was arrested in April this year after several FIRs were registered against her and her husband Harish KN across multiple police stations in Karnataka. An ED press release stated that the duo, along with others, allegedly lured victims by promising high returns on investments. They, however, failed to return the money or deliver the promised returns and reportedly issued threats when questioned — citing Aishwarya's purported connections with senior politicians.

DRDO offers 28 indigenous weapon systems to Army for emergency procurement
The Defence Research and Development Organisation has offered 28 of its designed and developed weapon systems to the three services for emergency procurement. This comes at a time when the indigenous weapons performed well during India's military retaliation, Operation Sindoor, against the Pahalgam terror attack. The Defence Forces have been allowed to buy new weapons and replenish the stocks of existing weapons by the Centre under the emergency procurement powers. Under these powers, they can buy hardware up to Rs 300 crore for a single product. "The premier defence research agency has submitted the list to the defence ministry and includes rockets, air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles, laser-guided bombs, torpedoes, shoulder-fired air defence and anti-tank missiles, helicopter-launched and ground-launched Nag missiles, Rudram anti-radiation missiles, Naval anti-ship missiles and grenades," defence officials told ANI. "The long list of weapon systems provided by the DRDO also lists the vendors who produce them and the number that the defence forces can procure in the next six months to one year," the sources said. The DRDO has also listed the names of the Production agencies for its various products from which the forces can source these items. For example, the Pinaka rockets can be acquired from Solar Defence and Aerodpace Limited, while Bharat Dynamics Limited is the source for multiple pieces of equipment in the list. The forces have also been offered the Man-Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missiles, Very Short-Range Air Defence System, Smart Anti-Airfield Weapons, long-range Glide Bomb, and Advanced Light-Weight Torpedo, along with ammunition for the 155 mm artillery guns. The forces have been given the option to order from a list of 28 different pieces of equipment, including 14 for the Indian Army, 8 for the Indian Navy, and 6 for the Indian Air Force. The Indian Air Force is also acquiring the SAAW smart ammunition as part of a proposal being considered by the Defence Ministry, which is likely to come up for discussion soon. The DRDO has been the main developer of weapons in the Indian system, and its BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles, MRSAM air-edge fence missile systems, and Akash air-edge fence systems have performed very well in defeating Pakistani attacks during Op Sindoor. The DRDO contribution or the offer of weapon systems readily available for the forces to use within one year is much higher than what was offered during the conflict with China, when not many systems were ready to be offered to the forces.

Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah in tight spot as Congress MLAs level charges of corruption against govt
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has found himself in a tight spot as two senior Congress MLAs have publicly spoken about corruption and misgovernance and another party MLA has demanded the resignation of housing minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan in the wake of these allegations. When asked about it by the media in Raichur, Siddaramaiah did not talk much about it but only said he would call the lawmakers and discuss their grievances with them. The Congress has been pushed into battling corruption charges as AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge heaped praise on the government for its welfare guarantee schemes. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like An engineer reveals: 1 simple trick to get all TV channels Techno Mag Learn More Undo Bharamagouda (Raju) Kage, the MLA from Kagawad in Belagavi district, told the media on Monday that he agreed with his party colleague and MLA BR Patil (Aland). The governance, Kage said, has completely failed. 'I am also facing a similar situation. Don't be surprised if I resign in protest,' he said. The government, the Kagawad MLA said, had no control over officials which has hurt him. He said the government had sanctioned Rs 25 crore to his constituency on two important projects two years ago, and the work was also kicked off ceremonially. But they never progressed, and people were losing patience, Kage said, suspecting non-payment of bribes was holding back the work. Live Events A leaked audio of the Aland MLA two days ago is still causing tremors in the Congress after he talked about the massive corruption in the Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation in the allotment of houses to the poor. Patil is heard saying that only those who paid bribes would get houses leaving minister Khan, a confidante of Siddaramaiah, on the edge. Congress MLA Belur Gopalakrishna (Sagar) told the media on Monday that housing minister Khan must step down and face an investigation in the wake of Patil's allegations and return to the Cabinet if the probe panel clears him. A senior lawmaker has spoken about corruption in the housing department so the minister must subject himself to investigation. In April this year, CM's economic advisor, MLA Basavaraja Rayareddy made headlines by saying Karnataka topped among the states in corruption, supplying fodder for the Opposition parties to attack the government.
