Gemini, ChatGPT, Grok – they all talk and now Claude wants a word, too
The AI space is moving fast and we are already seeing tons of powerful large language models (LLMs) doing some seriously cool (and kind of scary) stuff. Just take a look at Google's new Flow video generation tool. And sure, Google and OpenAI are leading the charge, but they are not the only ones making waves – Anthropic is stepping up, too. Anthropic has started rolling out a new voice mode for its Claude chatbot on both Android and iOS. It is still in beta, but this feature lets you have full-on voice conversations with Claude. It is launching in English first and should hit devices over the next few weeks.

As Claude speaks, it will also show key points on the screen.You can switch between voice and text at any time and once you are done chatting, you will get a transcript and a summary of the conversation.There are five different voice options to choose from and the feature even supports chatting about things like documents and images. However, there are some limits. Voice chats count toward your regular usage and free users can expect around 20–30 conversations.Also, if you want voice mode to work with Google Workspace – like checking your Gmail or calendar – you will need to be a paid Claude subscriber. Google Docs integration is only available with Claude's Enterprise plans.
If this all sounds familiar, it is because several other AI players already offer voice chat, too. OpenAI has let you talk to ChatGPT for a while now and the experience feels impressively human. Google has Gemini Live, which acts as more of a real-world assistant. And even Elon Musk's xAI brought voice mode to Grok.
However, each one brings something different to the table. ChatGPT is all about smooth, multimodal interactions. Gemini Live leans into visual context for helping out in everyday situations. Grok stands out with its personality and real-time takes on social media. And now Claude is carving out its own space by focusing on thoughtful replies and deep productivity features like document and email integration.

Apple has divided opinions with its new iOS 26 – it introduced new features, but is also a part of a wider effort to unify the user experience across all Apple products. As we noted in last week's poll, the new OS version is only available as a developer beta – an open beta should be out in a few weeks, the stable release will likely coincide with the arrival of the iPhone 17 series. What does the poll show? Around half of voters have found something to like in the iOS 26 update. That said, that was mostly due to the new features introduced in this version. As for Liquid Glass, the new unifying design language, that has its fans too, but they are in the minority. Positive impressions include better-quality glass visuals than Vista ever delivered and extended customization options. Negative opinions see this as just a skin at best rather than an actual major change to the UI. The computational requirements (more battery drain and more heat) of the new UI are also drawing ire. And, of course, legibility remains a concern – the good news on that front is that the Accessibility settings offer a toggle to reduce the transparency of the UI. The effects of the 'Reduce Transparency' toggle (image source) There is also a large group of voters who is not happy with either the new features or the new look – but part of that group just has a general anti-Apple sentiment. Not everyone, though, some long-time Apple users see this as a bad direction for UI. The 'wait and see' group isn't as big but Apple still has time to tweak details between now and Q4 when iOS 26 will be made available to the public at large. Subsequent versions will continue iterating on the design too.

22 June 2025 According to a new report, Apple is internally testing two new colors for the vanilla iPhone 17 - Purple and Green. However, the report claims that although Apple is considering the two colorways, only one will make the cut. Currently, the Purple one is reportedly the frontrunner. Meanwhile, the company is considering a Sky Blue color for the iPhone 17 Pro to freshen things up. Even though iPhone colors usually generate a lot of buzz, it's hard to beat the news about the display upgrade. Earlier this month, a report came in suggesting that the iPhone 17 and the 17 Air (likely to replace the iPhone Plus model) will finally feature 120Hz displays. Sadly, they will omit the ProMotion features. Those will remain exclusive to the Pro duo. Source
