The Sarpsborg winger has been on the radar of the Hoops for some time and it was reported in January that dialogue had been opened in at attempt to bring him to Glasgow.

"I think that if it happens, it happens. It's not like I'll be depressed if there's no transition."

And Denmark legend Rieper told Mail Sport: 'I've seen Nygren a number of times. He is the full package. A really good player. 'He has tremendous speed, good passing ability and is a really, really good finisher - and from long range. 'When you play for Nordsjaelland you need to be able to keep the ball and he is really good in that sense. ‌ 'Celtic have got a really good player in Nygren. He is top class.' Nygren was one of the Danish Sperliga's most effective attacking threats over the last two seasons and had interest from across Europe a year ago. With just six months left on his contract at Nordsjaelland the Danes have accepted the knockdown fee rather than lose the player for nothing in December. ‌ But Rieper expects Celtic will make a huge profit on Nygren further down the line - with the former defender tipping him to be the latest star to become a £10m-plus player at Parkhead.
