Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy-led TelanganaRising delegation's seven-day tour of Japan concluded on Tuesday with the team successfully attracting a total of 12,062 crore in investments to the state, which is likely to create 30,500 jobs. The chief minister is expected to return to the city on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the Revanth-led team visited Hiroshima, where Revanth paid floral tributes to the bust of Mahatma Gandhi. Later, he laid a wreath at the

Hiroshima Prefectural Assembly speaker Takashi Nakamoto and a team of legislators welcomed Revanth's visit to the Prefectural Legislative Assembly Hall, where the two sides held talks.
Addressing the gathering, CM Revanth said it was an honour to visit Hiroshima. "Your city means hope. You are a symbol of what is possible when people decide to do something together. Like Hiroshima, Telangana too is all about struggle, hope, and achievement through hard work, vision, and responsibility. We both share several values. Never give up is one of them. Hiroshima stands for peace, sustainability, and prosperity. Telangana too shares those values with you. Therefore, today, I am not here to talk about investments, but partnership. A partnership to help create a better, greener, and more inclusive world," he said.
The CM said over 50 Japanese companies were already contributing to the growth of Telangana. "We are ready to welcome many more as there are opportunities in clean energy, electric mobility, precision manufacturing, and green hydrogen," he said and invited the officials of the Hiroshima govt and business leaders to visit Telangana to see first-hand that Telangana can be their gateway to India and a platform for their global growth.

The government plans to unveil the Vision Document on December 9, coinciding with the birthday of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and recognising her contribution to the creation of Telangana. Karnataka CM inaugurates development works worth 936 crore in Raichur
Raichur (Karnataka) [India], June 23 (ANI): Development works worth Rs 936 crore were inaugurated in Raichur, Karnataka, on Monday, reaffirming the Congress Government's commitment to delivering on its promises, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, as per an official statement from the Karnataka Chief Minister's Office (CMO). He was speaking after inaugurating the Tribal Cultural Festival organised by the Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department and the District Administration, unveiling the nameplate of Adikavi Maharshi Valmiki University, and participating in the 371st Dashamanotsav celebrations. 'Our government is committed to development. We had promised 560 guarantees during this election. Already, 235 of these have been fulfilled, and the remaining will be completed in the next three years,' the Chief Minister said. He criticised the previous BJP government, accusing it of neglecting development and now resorting to false propaganda out of frustration over Congress' achievements. 'From 2013 to 2018, our previous government fulfilled all the promises made and even 30 more that were not part of the manifesto,' he recalled. Highlighting the 'steep price rise' under the Modi-led government, the CM pointed out how the prices of gold, silver, rice, pulses, cooking oil, LPG, petrol, diesel, and fertilisers have risen sharply, burdening ordinary citizens. 'Despite being in power at the Centre, the BJP is lying shamelessly to the people,' he charged. Emphasising the historical importance of Article 371J for Kalyana Karnataka's progress, CM Siddaramaiah reminded that it was the result of the relentless efforts of Congress leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge and Dharam Singh, supported by the Manmohan Singh-led UPA government. 'The BJP opposed this historic step. When Vajpayee was Prime Minister, Advani said that 371J was not possible,' he said. Since coming to power, the Congress government has allocated Rs 13,500 crore for Kalyana Karnataka's development, with a commitment to allocate more funds going forward. 'Due to 371J, our youth are now becoming engineers, doctors, IAS, IPS, ACs, and DCs. This is our achievement,' he said. Thanking the people of Kalyana Karnataka for electing Congress in all five Lok Sabha seats from the region, he said, 'The blessings of the people of Raichur district are always upon us. Kalyana Karnataka will remain a stronghold of Congress.' Lashing out at the BJP for 'betraying' Karnataka, he said, 'Even though they are in power at the Centre, BJP leaders have failed to correct the injustice done to Karnataka. No BJP or MP has raised their voice to protect the state's interests. This is their true character.' 'I will be visiting Delhi today to demand that the injustice done to Karnataka by the 15th Finance Commission be corrected at least in the 16th Finance Commission. I will be meeting the Union Finance Minister regarding this,' the Chief Minister announced. The CM predicted that Raichur MLA Raja Venkatappa Nayak Daddal has a bright future and will secure victory in the 2028 elections. (ANI)

‘Why us': Syrian Christians after Damascus church bombing
Syrian Christians were struggling on Monday to understand why their community was targeted in a suicide attack and whether they can rely on the Islamist-led government's assurances of protection. There was no claim of responsibility of the blast by the Islamic State group.(AP) Syria's health ministry said the toll from Sunday's attack on the Mar Elias Church in the Dweila neighborhood had risen to 25 dead and more than 60 wounded. The interior ministry said the suicide bomber was a member of Islamic State who entered the church, opened fire and detonated an explosive vest. There was no claim of responsibility by the Islamic State group. The interior ministry spokesperson said on Monday that security forced raided Islamic State hideouts in Damascus and the countryside around the capital, Syrian state news agency Sana reported. Those included the hideout of the group that attacked the church a day earlier, the spokesperson said. The raids resulted in the killing of two members of the group following clashes, the interior ministry said, including a militant who facilitated the entry of the suicide bomber to the church. Security forces also arrested six militants, including the leader of the Islamic State cell, the ministry said. On Monday, funeral announcements were posted on the door of the church. Members of the security forces stood outside it and other churches. "I wonder why they target us. We had no interest in any of the events that happened in our country. We have no interests besides Syria living in peace," said Bassim Khoury, a Christian resident of Damascus. "We did not carry weapons, we did not stand against anyone. We did not ask for government positions. None of us wants to become president, no one wants to run the government... Why would this happen to this peaceful people?" The attack fed fears among Syria's minorities that their communities are more exposed to attacks and harassment since Islamist-led rebels toppled former leader Bashar al-Assad in December. In March, hundreds of Alawites - the minority from which Assad hails - were killed in Syria's coastal provinces and dozens were kidnapped and killed in Damascus. In May, an armed raid on a Damascus nightclub and the killing of a woman at another venue led some bars to close. Christian residents of Damascus told Reuters that Muslim sheikhs had come to their neighbourhoods in the last six months to urge them to convert to Islam and to stop consuming alcohol. Security Concerns The violence has prompted questions about whether Syria's new rulers have full control over armed elements despite promises by Interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa - formerly a member of Al Qaeda - to rule inclusively for all of the diverse religious and ethnic groups. "We're in a country that must protect everyone," said Jean Bahri, another Christian resident of Damascus. Nibras Youssef, from Dweila, said people has already been on edge over the security situation, in which armed men and boys who said they were official security force members produced no relevant identification papers. "You see a 13-year-old holding a weapon and you cannot say anything to them," said Youssef. Sharaa expressed his condolences, calling Sonday's attack a "criminal bombing that hurt the whole Syrian people". Several Syrian ministers, as well as church leaders and other foreign officials, condemned the attacks. Candlelit vigils and church services were held elsewhere in Syria in solidarity with the parishioners at Mar Elias.
