However, Mullins' start to the Grand National Festival, with four-straight winners on day one, may have convinced punters to back the Irishman to secure a second-straight victory at the National joining Ginger McCain and Gordon Elliott.
Iroko
Irish contenders tend to dominate the Grand National betting odds, although the presence of the lightly-raced Iroko ensures there is a contender that flying the flag for the UK.
Iroko caught the eye of most racegoers with a promising effort at Cheltenham in January, staying on well under tender handling over a trip short of his best. A recent spin at Kelso behind Grey Dawning was a career best over fences and this test should suit ideally.

Stumptown has taken to the Cross-Country course at Punchestown and Cheltenham and follows a similar route to the one employed by Tiger Roll's connections. His odds have steadily narrowed and given his performance at Cheltenham, bettors are fancying him to make another charge for a major crown, albeit against a talented field.
Hewick

Hewick has seen his odds cut dramatically after a fine performance at the Jimmy Neville Memorial Hurdle at Thurles. Shark Hanlon's charge has a strong pedigree and a Grade One win under his belt, triumphing in the King George VI Chase in 2023, beating out Bravemansgame and Allaho.
His last performance at Aintree came in 2024 in the Liverpool Hurdle where he was well off the pace. He's not to be slept on at the peak of his powers, and if he and jockey Gavin Sheehan find their rhythm, history could beckon on Saturday.
Vanillier

Vanillier caught the eye behind his stablemate Stumptown at Cheltenham where his rider nearly took the wrong direction. He did remarkably well to finish third, but has had two tries at this race already and repeat triers historically struggle.
Perceval Legallois

Perceval Legallois represents a stable with a strong hand in this race and he could well be a springer in the market given he is well weighted, the right age and has already won two huge field handicaps at Leopardstown this term, the last one over hurdles.
Intense Raffles
Intense Raffles has seen his Grand National odds drift. He was an early favourite after Cheltenham Festival with a price of 7/1, but his price has now been pushed out to 14s on betting sites. Intense Raffles looked a strong contender for the Aintree event after winning the Irish National on heavy ground last spring.
Two hurdle outings and a promising effort behind Nick Rockett in the Bobbyjo Chase, a race favoured by Irish trainers when preparing for this race, should have put him spot on. The pair brought up their century stand in eight overs, and in all added 117 in just 52 balls to complete the demolition job. Cian Robertson was the pick of the Knights attack who did well to restrict Leinster to 153 for seven, with the left-arm Instonians spinner taking two wickets. Abidullah Taniwal hit a quick-fire 40 but it was too little, too late in a one-sided contest. Andre Botha's side will be glad of the return of their six Irish internationals for the rest of the Festival. It was a good day for the Ulster sides, as earlier the Warriors opened their account with a 29-run win against hosts Munster. Former Sussex player Sam Topping was the batting hero for the North West side, clearing the ropes four times in an entertaining top score of 67, sharing half-century stands with Andrew Balbirnie (26) and Jake Egan. Egan made an impressive 47 (two fours, three sixes), adding a further 55 for the third wicket with Scott Macbeth (34) as they looked set to post in excess of 200. However, the tail failed to wag as they lost five wickets in quick succession to finish on 191 for seven — three wickets apiece for John McNally and Josh Manley. The hosts' chase started poorly, with the Warriors taking some excellent catches in a superb fielding effort that reduced Munster to 101 for seven. It seemed the contest was all but over, but McNally had other ideas as he thumped three fours and four sixes in a 39-ball 64, adding 57 in just four overs with Bakhtyar Nabi (28). Quek is no stranger to sporting arenas, with the former Olympic gold medallist a decorated star in her own right. ‌ At 36 years of age, the winner with Great Britain's women's hockey team in Rio 2016 has now transitioned smoothly into broadcasting since hanging up her boots. Her portfolio includes Olympic Games, football, NFL and rugby commentary. ‌ Quek is quickly becoming one of the most popular names in sports broadcasting but she has had to put up with a fair bit of flak in her last major sports TV job. Having gone through surgery with husband Tom alongside her, Quek described the rush of feelings upon meeting her new arrival. ‌ "When his little face popped up over the curtain, it was the realisation that he'd finally got here, was safe and was going to join our family of three to make it four," she said with joy. Tom, whom Quek considers her "best mate and number one supporter", was acknowledged to have mixed emotions regarding her stint on Strictly Come Dancing, as she revealed he might feel "jealous" of her participation in the show. Nonetheless, Quek dismissed any concerns over the notorious Strictly curse, making it clear her husband's a great supporter of the dance show. ‌ "My husband is genuinely really excited for me because he knows how much I'm going to enjoy it," Quek expressed at the time.
