CAIRO – 22 June 2025: Egyptian Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority (ENRRA): Egypt is far from any direct impact resulting US strikes on uranium enrichment facilities in Iran.
The ENRRA reassures Egyptian citizens that no neighboring countries to Iran have reported any change or increase in their radiation levels.
The Authority also confirms that it is monitoring around the clock developments related to the status of nuclear facilities in the region in accordance with the developments of current events, through: Continuously reviewing reports issued by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) concerning the condition of Iranian nuclear facilities.
Actively monitoring background radiation through its national radiation monitoring and early warning system, which employs the latest detection technologies across Egypt.
The Authority urges citizens to rely only on official data as a reliable source of information in this regard.
On Sunday, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that American aircraft had conducted heavy airstrikes on several Iranian nuclear sites, including Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. 'A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow,' Trump said.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (AIEA) said on X: 'Following attacks on three nuclear sites in Iran - including Fordow - the IAEA can confirm that no increase in off-site radiation levels has been reported as of this time.'
The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran stated that there is no risk to residents living in the vicinity of the targeted nuclear sites.
The Iranian Agency called for an investigation into "illegal" US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities. It added that attacks on nuclear sites violate international law. 'We will not allow the development of this national industry to be halted,' it added
In response, Iran attacked Ben Gurion Airport, the system's biological research center, and alternative command and control centers. Tehran added that it used guided missiles, capable of maneuvering the warhead at the moment of landing, and guiding until the moment of impact, and equipped with highly explosive and destructive warheads of various types.
Since the outbreak of the war between Iran and Israel on June 13, Egypt has exerted tremendous diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the conflict in which hundreds of people were killed and thousands were injured.
The war started when Israel, which has nuclear weapon and not a member of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), launched missile and drones towards Tehran and killed hundreds of nuclear scientists, military leaders and civilians to prevent Iran from having a nuclear weapon. Israeli missiles and drones have targeted several nuclear facilities in Natanz, Isfahan, Arak and Fordow, causing a minor level of radiation leakage in Natanz as it was reported by the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Israel, which is totally backed by the US, seeks to be the only country in the region that has nuclear weapons. In retaliation, Iran fired hundreds hypersonic missiles and drones on Israel, causing severe damage to buildings besides the Weizmann Institute of Science, Haifa refinery, and the Gav-Yam Negev Advanced Technologies Park.
Israel, which continues its genocidal war on Gaza despite its war with Iran, attempts to draw the US in its conflict with Iran to also topple the Iranian Islamic regime, led by the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. However, Tehran, along with its regional allies in the Middle East in Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen, threatened if the US entered the war, the US interests in the Middle East will be targeted.

OPEN/ FM stresses Egypt's firm support for Yemen's legitimate government

CAIRO, June 22 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty stressed Egypt's firm support for the legitimate Yemeni government. His remarks came during a meeting on Sunday with Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Shaya Mohsin Zindani, on the sidelines of their participation in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers' meeting in Turkey's Istanbul. The top Egyptian diplomat called for resuming the Yemeni-Yemeni political process to reach a settlement to the country's crisis. Abdelatty said this settlement should be agreed upon and accepted by various Yemeni political factions, in a way that preserves the unity of Yemen and ends the existing humanitarian crisis. He also highlighted the great importance of the security and stability of Yemen for the security of the entire region. The foreign minister underlined the significance of ensuring the safety and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea, given that this matter is directly linked to the Egyptian national security. Abdelatty briefed Zindani on Egypt's efforts aimed at resuming the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, especially in light of the worsening humanitarian situation in the Palestinian enclave. The two ministers tackled the rising tensions in the region amid the current Israeli-Iranian military conflict, where Abdelatty warned of the risks of dragging the Middle East into chaos, emphasizing the need to de-escalate the situation through political and diplomatic methods. US Strikes on Iran Raise Aviation Safety Fears

Israa Farhan The recent US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities have raised serious concerns about the safety of civil aviation in the Middle East, according to a leading airspace risk monitoring organization. As tensions intensify between Iran , Israel, and the United States, major airlines are cancelling flights and rerouting routes to avoid high-risk zones. Safe Airspace, a platform operated by aviation intelligence firm OPSGROUP, warned on Sunday that the US military action could significantly increase the threat to American carriers operating in the region. While no direct threats have been issued against civil aviation, the group pointed out that Iran has previously threatened to target US military interests in the Middle East—either directly or through proxy groups like Hezbollah. Commercial airlines have already been avoiding large swathes of airspace over Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Israel. According to data from FlightRadar24, air traffic continued to divert on Sunday, following routes over the Caspian Sea to the north or via Egypt and Saudi Arabia to the south, even at the cost of longer flight durations and increased fuel and crew expenses. The disruption follows over a week of escalating conflict, beginning with Israeli airstrikes on Iran on 13 June and followed by retaliatory missile launches by Tehran. As a result, many international carriers suspended flights to affected destinations; however, some evacuation flights are being operated from neighboring countries to repatriate stranded travelers, including Israelis. Israel briefly reopened its airspace for six hours on Sunday to allow the return of citizens who have been unable to fly home since the onset of the conflict. Despite this temporary reopening, uncertainty remains high. The latest developments have compounded existing airspace restrictions across the region, severely impacting commercial flight operations and prompting fears of broader travel disruptions if tensions persist. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

US Says Conflict Is with Iran's Nuclear Program, Not the Country

H-Tayea US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the United States is not at war with Iran as a state, but rather with its nuclear program, emphasizing that current tensions stem from the breakdown in negotiations. In remarks reported by AlQahera News Channel, Vice President Vance said, 'We are not in a state of war with Tehran, we are confronting its nuclear ambitions.' He added that Iranian authorities had ceased to negotiate in good faith, suggesting that if talks had been productive, the situation could have taken a different course. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean
