Kyogo 'could' return to Celtic as transfer price plummets with El Kachati battle 'over' amid O'Riley payday veto

Out of favour Kyogo Furuhashi could return to Celtic from Stade Rennes this summer after a dismal spell in Ligue 1, according to reports in France.
The Celtic star looks set to be left out of Habib Beye's 25-man unit that he takes into pre-season after his £10million January move quickly turned sour.
The 30-year-old was signed by boss Jorge Sampoali with sporting director Frederic Massara negotiating the deal - but since both allies have left the club.
The Japan international struggled to even make the matchday squad in the final weeks of the season - and has yet to find the net for his new club.
Amid reports that Premier League side Bournemouth are considering a bid for the misfit, Foot7 claim that a move back to Brendan Rodgers' side "could" be on.
It is claimed that Celtic have already "inquired" about a deal and may make "a concrete offer" for less than they received from Rennes just six months ago with the search for Kyogo's successor still rumbling on.
One forward that doesn't appear to be on his way to Celtic Park is Youssef El Kachati - with the 25-goal star set to remain in the Netherlands after an impressive campaign firing Dutch minnows Telstar to the Eredivise.
Hannover 96 and the Scottish champions were said to be tracking the frontman - but De Telegraaf report there is an agreement in principle with NEC on a three-year contract.
Any spending spree could be funded by outgoing players - with sell-on paydays for Jeremie Frimpong and Matt O'Riley also on the cards.
Frimpong looks set to swap Bayer Leverkusen for Liverpool - while O'Riley has been linked with Roma and Everton just 12 months on from his Parkhead exit.
The Danish international has hinted he is not completely happy at Brighton - with the Hoops entitled to a sell-on payday for their record sale.
But a switch to The Toffees could be off the cards as it stands, with Everton insider Alan Myers telling the All Together Now podcast: 'My understanding is that it's not going to happen.
'I don't even know whether there is interest there, that's what I'm told.'
One man who appears keen to extend his stay at Celtic is Kasper Schmeichel as the Hoops' No. 1 revealed he wants to reach the 1,000-game milestone.
The Danish keeper has currently made 903 appearances for 12 different clubs and insists he's had one of the best seasons of his career at Celtic.
The 38-year-old said: "It would be fantastic if I could reach 1000 games. You could say it would be a special milestone because not many people manage to play as many games as that.
"I'm the type who doesn't see limitations, but rather opportunities. I enjoy what I do immensely.
I look forward to training every day and to all the matches. I know it will end one day. That's also why I live very much in the present.
"I don't think several years into the future, but as I feel today, my plan is to continue my career for several years.
"The only thing that can stop those ambitions is if there is a serious injury.
"It has been one of the best seasons of my career. A new standard has been set for what we can and want.
"We lost one cup final against Aberdeen, were eliminated by Bayern Munich in the Champions League after a game where we had enough chances to win the game.
"I was really impressed with the atmosphere we had in the dressing room at the Allianz Arena. We had drawn against Bayern Munich, but we were very disappointed that we didn't progress.
"It shows me a lot about how mature we are as a team and not least about how much we have moved on.
"For me, it was the right time to end up at Celtic. Because I got exactly what I was looking for. I wanted more pressure and a big, traditional club. I got that at Celtic."

Liverpool newcomer Florian Wirtz motivated to build on Leverkusen achievements
The Premier League champions have paid Bayer Leverkusen £100million for the 22-year-old Germany international but that fee could potentially become a British record as there are £16m of add-ons included. If achieved that would surpass the existing mark of £115m which Chelsea paid for Moises Caicedo in 2023 and it is understood Liverpool will be happy to pay these 'aspirational bonuses' as it will mean they have enjoyed considerable success at elite level. And that is what Wirtz, one of Europe's hottest properties, is determined to contribute to. 'I'm not coming (to) have fun here, I want also to achieve something and give the fans what they deserve,' he told the club's website. 'Of course I want to keep going at this performance. So yeah, that sure gives motivation to achieve more. 'I would like to win everything every year. First of all, we have to do our work, I have to make my work. In the end, we want to be successful. 'Last season they won the Premier League, so my goal is for sure to win it again and also to go further in the Champions League. He wants to continue the progress which saw him score 57 goals and contribute 64 assists in 197 appearances for Leverkusen. 'This was also a big point for me: that I will improve my own personal level and physical levels because I think everyone knows that in Liverpool the players are machines – really strong and really physical,' he added. 'But I see this also as an opportunity for me to get better in this point. So yeah, I just thought this was the right place for me.' Liverpool saw off competition from Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid to secure Wirtz. Leverkusen had valued him at £126m but a compromise was reached last week, although the up-front fee easily outstrips the £85m deal Liverpool agreed with Benfica in 2022 for Darwin Nunez, who is expected to leave this summer. 'I'm really excited to have a new adventure in front of me. This was also a big point of my thoughts: that I want to have something completely new, to go out of the Bundesliga and to join the Premier League,' he added. Wirtz is Liverpool's second signing of the summer, following close friend and Leverkusen team-mate Jeremie Frimpong to Anfield, and with the Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvilli joining next month after a deal was agreed a year ago spending has already reached £175m. That is set to be pushed beyond the £200m mark with a £40m fee agreed for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.
