Air India will launch non-stop flights between Delhi and Manila starting 01 October 2025, becoming the only airline offering direct connectivity between India and the Philippines. The service will operate five times a week using Air India's Airbus A321neo aircraft. By Riddhima Jain Published on June 4, 2025, 14:51 IST
In a major expansion of its international network, Air India has announced the launch of non-stop flights between Delhi and Manila, beginning 01 October 2025. This new route will make Air India the sole carrier to offer direct connectivity between India and the Philippines, strengthening bilateral ties and facilitating greater movement of tourists, business travellers, and cargo between the two nations.
The airline will operate five flights a week — on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays — using its Airbus A321neo aircraft. These aircraft feature a three-class configuration, offering passengers a choice of Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy cabins.
The launch comes at a time of increasing outbound travel from India and follows the Philippines government's recent decision to offer visa-free entry for Indian tourists for up to 14 days. This move is expected to boost tourism from India to popular destinations in the Philippines, such as Boracay, Palawan, and Cebu.
'The introduction of our Delhi-Manila route is yet another step in our mission to connect India with more of the world, non-stop,' said Campbell Wilson, CEO & Managing Director of Air India. 'As outbound travel from India grows at an unprecedented pace, this route provides an important gateway to Southeast Asia. We're pleased to offer travellers more convenience and to support the growing partnership between India and the Philippines.'
Beyond tourism, the new route is also expected to facilitate increasing trade between the two countries. According to the Indian Embassy in Manila, bilateral trade reached USD 3.53 billion in 2023–24, nearly doubling since 2015–16.
Additionally, Air India's flight timings are designed to offer seamless one-stop connections from major European cities via Delhi, making the service attractive to international travellers as well.

Philippine Peso, Korean Won, Thai Baht More Vulnerable to Further Oil-Price Spikes

0217 GMT — The Philippine peso, Korean won and Thai baht are more vulnerable in Asia to further oil-price spikes, four members of MUFG Bank's Global Markets Research say in a note. They cite the bank's analysis of how oil-price increases could affect Asia's foreign-exchange markets. MUFG Bank's scenario analysis shows an oil-price increase of $10/bbl would reduce Asia's current account positions by 0.2% to 0.9% of GDP. The scenario analysis also shows that Asia's CPI will likely rise by 0.1 to 0.8 percentage point for every $10/bbl increase in oil prices. USD/PHP rises 0.8% to 57.56, USD/KRW adds 0.6% to 1,380.73 and USD/THB is 0.5% higher at 32.95, LSEG data show. ( 0125 GMT — The dollar strengthens against most other G-10 and Asian currencies in the morning session after the U.S. strikes on Iran's nuclear sites over the weekend. 'The USD lifts because the USD is a safe haven and the U.S. is a net energy exporter,' CBA's Global Economic & Markets Research team says in a note. 'How high the USD lifts is now in the hands of political and military leaders in the U.S., Israel and Iran,' the team adds. The ICE USD Index is up 0.4% to 99.06, USD/KRW adds 0.7% to 1,383.73, and AUD/USD falls 0.4% to 0.6427, according to FactSet data. (
