Two Major League Baseball stars had to receive emergency medical treatment on the field after suffering heat-related illnesses on Saturday afternoon.
Cincinnati Reds superstar Elly De La Cruz and Seattle Mariners reliever Trent Thornton both fell foul of extreme weather as temperatures closed in on 100 degrees across the US.
De La Cruz, 23, vomited on the field in the fourth inning of the Reds' loss in St Louis, before trainers rushed to assist him.
Incredibly, he managed to carry on - and even went on to hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning.
'I actually watched him,' Reds manager Terry Francona explained after the game. 'He [De La Cruz] drank a bunch of water. I mean a bunch... and then he went right out and got rid of it.'
Thornton, meanwhile, suffered a 'scary' moment on the mound and had to be helped back to the dugout by trainers.
The Mariners manager, Dan Wilson, later opened up on the 'heat-related illness', explaining to reporters: 'He battled hard. It was a scary moment for sure. But just really glad that he's feeling a little bit better now and should be OK.'
Seattle were playing against the Cubs in Chicago on Saturday afternoon, where temperatures hit 94f at first pitch.
In St Louis, meanwhile, it was 92 degrees during the game, and another game was even worse, with Milwaukee at Minnesota played under an 'excessive heat warning'.
Temperatures are only set to get worse this week, with New York tipping 100f on Tuesday - the day the Mets host the Braves at Citi Field.

"He said that I hit him with my hand, and then there was an argument and the referee made the racism sign, but I was telling him the same thing the whole time." Pachuca boss Jaime Lozano was coy on the incident. The Mexican, 46, said: "I haven't spoken to Cabral about this. "I cannot give you an explanation about it because this is the first [I've heard of] this news. "It cannot be justified at all. I've known him for a little while and and I have never heard of something like that with Pachuca players. "I cannot defend my captain at any cost but I will talk about it with him." Real Madrid had gone down to 10 men after just seven minutes, when Raul Asencio was sent off for bringing down ex-West Brom and Everton striker Salomon Rondon. Nevertheless, the LaLiga giants took the lead on 35 minutes through Jude Bellingham, before Arda Guler made it 2-0 before half-time. Antonio Rudiger has claimed he was racially abused during Real Madrid's Club World Cup victory over Mexican side Pachuca on Sunday. Ilkay Gundogan unhappy with ‘slow' Man City despite six-goal romp

Manchester City racked up six goals, one of which came out of the top drawer, and two of their full debutants put on impressive displays, but not everyone boarding their flight back to Florida on Sunday night was happy with the evening's events. Following City's 6-0 win over Al Ain, Ilkay Gundogan lamented the slow build-up play of his team and their failure to score more goals. 'We wanted a seventh goal,' Gundogan, the 34-year-old midfielder, said. 'But we were too slow and that is something that shouldn't have happened. It doesn't make sense. Even in the first half there were short periods where we were not that precise in terms of our passing and the way we played. 'It's something we need to observe and get better at because at the highest level you should not allow yourself to be not good for such a long time. It felt quite long to be honest.
