After a considerable delay, the much-awaited Malayalam family entertainer 'Maharani', starring Roshan Mathew and Shine Tom Chacko, is all set to premiere on OTT.
The film, which originally hit theatres in November 2023, had not yet announced the OTT release details.
According to OTT Play reports, the film will soon be available for streaming on OTT in the first or second week of July 2025.
A tale of family, fights and fun
Set in the fictional village of Kinassery in Alappuzha, Maharani is a vibrant story that begins with a petty disagreement and quickly snowballs into a full-blown feud between two families. What starts as a local squabble escalates into a chaotic riot, capturing the complexities of familial pride and village politics.
Roshan Mathew and Shine Tom Chacko are seen playing brothers at the heart of this narrative, with their marriage-related issues appearing to be the central thread of the film. Nisha Sarang and Johny Antony portray their parents, adding warmth and comedic balance to the mix.
Roshan Mathew - Shine Tom Chacko starrer 'Maharani' to release on November
The teaser hints at light-hearted chaos wrapped in emotional storytelling, promising an engaging ride for family audiences.
Mediocre response in theatres
Although 'Maharani' had the talented Shine Tom Chacko and Roshan Mathew in the lead, the comedy entertainer received mixed reports from all over. ETimes only gave 2 star rating for the movie with our review reading, "Roshan and Shine try hard to play young men who are loveable, despite their tendency to discard one girl for another. Of course, because it is subject like this, there are quite a few instances of misogyny; even in the manner in which Vijeesh speaks to his former girlfriend.
Ultimately, it feels strange that director G Marthandan, the actors and producer Sujit Balan felt that this story by Ratheesh Ravi was worth their effort."

When Anushka Sharma shared her and Virat Kohli's parenting mantra: 'It's important for children to…'
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli stand out as one of India's most cherished celebrity couples, not only for their enduring romance but also for their thoughtful approach to family life and parenting. Their journey together, which began in 2013 during a commercial shoot, quickly captivated fans with their natural chemistry both on and off screen. The couple tied the knot in a picturesque ceremony in Tuscany, Italy, in December 2017. Since then, their family has blossomed with the arrival of their daughter Vamika in January 2021 and their son Akaay in February 2024. 'It's a family unit, not just Mum and Dad duties' In a throwback interview with Vogue, Anushka spoke honestly about what kind of parents she and Virat aim to be. She said, 'We don't see it as mum and dad duties, but as a family unit. For us, it's important that our child be raised with a very balanced outlook. In Virat's case, he plays around the year. What becomes important is the time we spend together as a family.' Setting the right example Talking more about how children observe and learn from their parents, Anushka said, 'Times have changed. It's important for children to look at parents—they learn from you. And there is a sense of normalcy that both of us do work. Of course, one will have to manage things differently and more efficiently to work.' Choosing privacy over popularity While many celebrity couples post about their children on social media, Anushka and Virat have chosen a different path. They rarely share photos of their kids and make a clear effort to keep their family life private. Anushka explained their decision, saying, 'We've thought about it a lot. We definitely do not want to raise a child in the public eye—we don't plan on engaging our child in social media. I think it's a decision your child should be able to take. No kid should be made to be more special than the other. It's hard enough for adults to deal with it. It's going to be difficult, but we intend to follow through.' On the work front, Anushka was last seen in a cameo in the OTT film 'Qala'. Since then, she's been enjoying motherhood and focusing on her family life. Recognizing her as a fan, the woman was gently escorted out of the building before she could reach Salman. Salman's work front On the professional front, Salman was last seen in A.R.
