Duke hires Corey Muscara as baseball coach following Chris Pollard's departure for Virginia

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Duke has hired Corey Muscara as its baseball coach.
The school announced the move Thursday, a little more than a week after Chris Pollard left following 13 seasons to take over at Virginia. The Blue Devils reached four NCAA super regionals and won two Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament titles under Pollard.
Muscara had spent the past four seasons as an assistant at Wake Forest, which included the Demon Deacons' trip to the College World Series in 2023. He worked with the pitching staff.
His previous coaching stops included Maryland and St. John's.

Morrison didn't face lineups like LSU's in the Sun Belt, but he's proven himself vs. power competition in recent weeks. Morrison has been a model of consistency in 2025. He's pitched 5+ innings in all but one start. He's pitched 6+ innings in seven of his last nine outings. scouting report highlights Morrison's swing-and-miss fastball that can touch 95 miles per hour. The report notes that Morrison has trouble landing breaking pitches in the zone, but the movement leads hitters to chase and prevents hard contact. Morrison has a change-up, but he leaves it over the plate at times. Notes on expected LSU starter Anthony Eyanson LSU pitcher Anthony Eyanson emerged as one of the most effective arms in college baseball over the final two-thirds of the season. Eyanson's last two starts have not been smooth sailing. He's allowed seven earned runs in his last eight innings. Eyanson's CWS start vs. UCLA was cut short when the game was suspended due to weather. Prior to his last two outings, Eyanson was only a roll with eight straight games of allowing two runs or less. Eyanson has surpassed 100+ pitches in several starts. He's maxed out at 115. If he's feeling it, LSU will let Eyanson pitch deep into this one. scouting report says Eyanson's slider is his best pitch with its "tremendous depth" leading hitters to chase. Eyanson's fastball sits 92-94, but has touched 98. Locating the fastball is key for the LSU pitcher because its lack of movement makes it vulnerable. Eyanson has a solid curveball, too. England winger Feyi-Waboso suspended from 2-test series in Argentina
DUBLIN (AP) — England will debate the worth of taking Immanuel Feyi-Waboso on its Americas tour next month after the winger received a two-match suspension on Sunday. Feyi-Waboso was sent off during the England XV's 26-24 loss to a France XV on Saturday at Twickenham. He caught Antoine Hastoy in the head with a swinging right arm in an attempted first-half tackle. His yellow card was upgraded on review to a 20-minute red card. A World Rugby disciplinary hearing confirmed it was a dangerous tackle and suspended Feyi-Waboso for both of England's tests in Argentina on July 5 and 12. He will be available for the test against the United States on July 19 in Washington, D.C., if he completes World Rugby's tackle school. Saturday's game was Feyi-Waboso's first action since December, when he dislocated his shoulder. He missed the Six Nations and a possible place in the British and Irish Lions squad. England is set to name its touring squad on Monday. ___
