Two found dead on railway tracks in Haridwar; cops suspect suicide
Haridwar: The bodies of an unidentified man and woman were found on the railway tracks between Bhagat Singh Chowk and Sector-2 Barrier in Jwalapur in Haridwar, on Sunday afternoon.
Police suspect the two may have died by suicide.Locals informed the police and claimed that they spotted the bodies near the tracks shortly after a Vande Bharat train passed around 12.30pm. Preliminary investigation revealed that the duo had been waiting near the railway track for nearly two hours before leaping in front of the speeding train. No identification documents or suicide notes were found at the scene. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination, and a detailed investigation is underway.Jawalapur station house officer (SHO) Amarjeet Singh told TOI, "We did not find any suicide note from the spot, and we are trying to identify them. Details of their appearance and clothing have been circulated to nearby police stations, but so far no one has come forward to identify them. It is possible they were outsiders or employed in the industrial area. They may also belong to a lower middle-class background. Further investigation is going on."

Jaisalmer: A gym trainer was arrested Saturday in Barmer following a complaint by a resident doctor for blackmailing and sending obscene messages to her. Garderner's home inside Bengaluru's Palace Grounds burgled
Bengaluru: Miscreants broke into the home of a gardener inside Palace Grounds Saturday afternoon and made away with Rs 65,000 cash, gold, and silver valuables — all within a span of just 20 minutes. The victim, Shrinivas, works as a gardener and lives with his family in a house provided to them near the Kamadhenu Gate inside Palace Grounds. According to his complaint, Shrinivas and his wife, who is employed as a domestic help, had left for work on Saturday morning. Their elder daughter, a degree student, left the house around 1pm for an exam, locking the door. Around 1.20pm, her younger sister, a PUC student, returned home to find the door ajar. She immediately informed her father, who rushed back only to discover the almirah had been broken open and valuables missing. The stolen items included Rs 65,000 in cash, a traditional gold earring, and several silver articles. Shrinivas, who made sure no one touched the crime scene, alerted the police. Upon inspection, the police collected evidence, after which the family discovered that more silver items had been taken. Shrinivas told TOI: "The miscreants stole the valuables from my house within 20 minutes. I took a hand loan of Rs 35,000 and Rs 30,000 was our savings in the box. I have three daughters and the money was meant for their education." Investigations revealed there were no CCTV cameras near the residence or at Kamadhenu Gate entrance. Authorities are now reviewing footage from CCTV cameras installed near Cauvery Theatre to track movements in the vicinity. A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 305 (theft in a dwelling house or similar premises) and 331 (punishment for house-trespass or housebreaking). The investigation is ongoing.

Journo drags molester out of bus, hands him over to cops
Kolkata: A woman journalist returning home from work was allegedly slapped, abused, molested, and had her dress torn by a 55-year-old co-passenger in a bus. The accused, Sanjay Basak, a resident of Narayanpur, was seated on a seat reserved for women, next to the complainant, in a private bus on Friday night. According to the complaint filed by the woman, the accused started touching her inappropriately after he occupied the seat near Ultadanga. "I asked him several times to sit properly, but he was abusive and questioned my morality since I was returning so late at night and advised me to take a cab instead. Initially, I tried to adjust, but after some point, the discomfort was too much, and I shouted at him, raising an alarm," the woman told TOI. Startled by the woman's cries, the man stood up, to which the woman kept the bag she was holding on the seat to create a barrier. "The man picked up the bag and threw it at me. As I got startled and raised my voice, he slapped me and began tugging at my clothes, which eventually got torn," she said. The woman, however, didn't get intimidated and dialled the local police station to narrate her ordeal. Cops soon arrived, noted her complaint, and took the accused to Baguiati police station. The woman, who underwent a medical examination, will depose her confidential statement before the magistrate on Monday," said a Bidhannagar City Police officer. Basak was produced before a Barasat court, which granted him bail with conditions of timely appearance before the magistrate and not leaving the city without investigating officer's nod.
