Etyen Releases Second Album ‘My Goddess' on Thawra Records
Etyen drops a deeply personal LP reflecting love and loss, composed in the midst of Lebanon's political and economic turmoil.
Jun 02, 2025
Lebanese producer Etyen has just released his second album, 'My Goddess', through his Beirut-based independent label Thawra Records. Released both digitally and on vinyl, the nine-track project is a deeply emotional, sonically expansive portrait of heartbreak, reflection, and survival.
Written during Lebanon's ongoing political and economic turmoil, the album captures the dual weight of personal grief and collective trauma. 'It's about learning to let go, even when everything feels like it's slipping through your hands,' Etyen tells SceneNoise.
The record is charged with layered textures, shifting from fragility to resilience, reflecting the artist's own emotional turbulence. Amongst the inspirations behind the album is the loss of his cat Lucy, a symbolic presence that threads through the record's narrative of mourning and rebirth.
Etyen has spent over a decade crafting a distinct voice in electronic music. His work spans Netflix original soundtracks ('Jinn'), international festivals like Sonar Barcelona and MUTEK, and editorial nods from Bandcamp Daily, BBC Radio 6, and FBi Radio. Through Thawra Records, he continues to champion experimental artists from the Arab region, building a community rooted in sonic and political independence.

Find Your Dream Dress from Georges Hobeika's 2026 Bridal Collection
Pasant Elzaitony - Yara Sameh The wedding dress is the most important thing in every woman's life. As brides-to-be carry on an endless search for the perfect dress for their special day, there are important questions that need to be addressed: What is the best wedding dress? And how to combine fashion and elegance in the bridal dress? Find your answers and inspiration from the world-famous Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika's Spring 2026 collection. By Georges Hobeika • While the world keeps a close eye on war, high prices, and tension, fashion designers look to the other side of politics. Therefore, Hobeika's collection captures softness, romanticism, elegance, and sophistication, all removed from the hustle and bustle of embroidery and the exaggerated sparkle of rhinestones. He used lace and guipure embroidery to achieve classic elegance with a modern, youthful perspective while relying on small, repeating units in asymmetrical shapes. By Georges Hobeika • Make sure the wedding dress expresses your personality and fits your body. Don't follow trends and fashion. Choose a modern design that reflects your spirit and personality and suits your height, weight, and skin tone. Also, keep in mind the groom's personality. If he's open-minded, he'll allow you to wear an unconventional dress, perhaps a short or sleeveless gown. If he's a conservative person, he'd opt for a modest dress. It is distasteful to choose a dress that doesn't suit the groom's personality and a risky nasty surprise on your special day. By Georges Hobeika • Focus on simplicity and avoid extravagant embroidery, cuts, and fabrics. Elegance doesn't come from adding many details to the design. Make sure you choose a shade of white, whether it's bright white (which suits white skin) or off-white (which suits wheatish complexion). • Make sure to try on the dress and measure it if you're buying it readymade. If a designer customizes it for you, make sure to try on a similar cut. If you're relying on a private designer, choose a designer whose ideas and style you're confident in. • Make sure to choose a dress that suits the venue where you'll be holding the wedding. If the ceremony is small and the space is cramped, opt for a bodycon dress. If the venue is open and spacious, opt for loose cuts. • Ultimately, your wedding dress and your and your groom's look will be a memory that carries on for decades. Russell Crowe, Henry Cavill Reunite for "Highlander" Reboot
Yara Sameh Russell Crowe is set to reunite with his "Man of Steel" co-star Henry Cavill for the remake of 'Highlander.' The Oscar-winner is set to play Cavill's mentor in a variation on the part played by Sean Connery in the 1986 original film. 'John Wick' director Chad Stahelski will helm the remake from a script by Michael Finch ('John Wick: Chapter 4'). 'Highlander' is backed by Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists, which is run by former Netflix film chief Scott Stuber. The film will open theatrically. Crowe was one of the biggest stars of the late '90s and 00s, appearing in action-heavy roles in the likes of 'Gladiator' and 'Master & Commander,' and earning critical raves for more dramatic work in 'The Insider,' 'A Beautiful Mind,' and 'L.A. Confidential.' In recent years, he's taken on more character parts in the likes of 'Kraven the Hunter' or starred in lower-budgeted movies such as 'The Pope's Exorcist' and 'Sleeping Dogs.' Crowe is next slated to play Hermann Göring, one of Hitler's most trusted allies, in James Vanderbilt's 'Nuremberg,' which Sony Pictures Classics will release in November. He also recently wrapped work on Netflix's 'Unabom,' which looks at the Unabomber, Ted Kaczynski, as well as the Cold War thriller 'Billion Dollar Spy' and the action thriller 'Bear Country.' Stuber and Nick Nesbitt will produce 'Highlander' for United Artists alongside Neal H. Moritz, 87Eleven Entertainment, Stahelski's production banner, Josh Davis of Davis Panzer Productions, and Louise Rosner. United Artists has secured full rights to the 1986 original, which Lionsgate developed, with the potential to also develop a new series. The original film starred Christopher Lambert and centered on a group of nearly invincible, ageless warriors. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean News 3 Killed in Shooting Attack in Thailand

Select 339: Mixed by Vegie
Vegie blurs genres in this fast-paced, bass-heavy mix, drawing from UK club chaos, lo-fi textures, and raw emotion to deliver a fearless, high-intensity session. Jun 21, 2025 In this edition of Select, we spotlight Vegie, a genre-blurring DJ whose curiosity and obsession with sound have made him one to watch in the region's leftfield scene. Known for his fearless blends and emotional unpredictability, his sets pull from bass-heavy UK club cuts, lo-fi rhythms, and dancefloor catharsis. Vegie's musical journey started in his early teens, experimenting with mashups on a dusty family desktop. With a hand-me-down mixer passed from his father, also a DJ, he began digging through genres with an obsessive edge, developing a sound that refuses to stay in one place for too long. For this SceneNoise mix, Vegie delivers a heavy, rhythm-charged session packed with sharp percussion, sub-loaded grooves, and a relentless underground energy. It's a fast, fun, and raw listen, an honest snapshot of the tracks currently driving his sets. You'll hear sounds straight from the UK's most experimental corners, including standout tracks like 'Things Let Down' by Yami, 'Voltage 3000' by Tamlin, and 'Life Sketch' by 3X & Aleph.
