Samantha reacts to rumours of promoting Yeh Maaya Chesave ahead of re-release
Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu has firmly denied speculation that she will reunite with her ex-husband, actor Naga Chaitanya, to promote the upcoming re-release of their 2010 romantic drama 'Ye Maaya Chesave'. The film, which holds significant value in both actors' careers and personal histories, is set to re-release in theatres on July 18, 15 years after its original debut. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Samantha addressed the rumours directly. 'No, I am not promoting 'Ye Maaya Chesave' with anyone. In fact, I'm not promoting the film at all,' she said. Reacting to fans' hopes of seeing the lead pair together again, she added, 'I don't know where this talk is coming from. Maybe fans of the film want to see the lead pair together. But one can't live one's life through the audience's lensing of life.''Ye Maaya Chesave' not only launched Samantha into stardom in Telugu cinema but also marked the beginning of her relationship with Naga Chaitanya. The couple fell in love during the shoot, got married in 2017, and eventually parted ways in 2021. Reflecting on the film, Samantha said, 'I really remember every single shot. The first shot I did for that film was at the gate, with my character Jessie meeting Karthik (Naga Chaitanya) for the first time. And I remember everything about it—every single detail. It was fantastic working with Gautham Menon, who knew exactly what he wanted.'advertisementWhile their off-screen love story had a fairytale beginning, things didn't unfold as dreamily as expected. Post-divorce, Samantha had shared on Koffee with Karan in 2022 that her equation with Naga Chaitanya was far from cordial, remarking, 'If you put us both in a room, you have to hide sharp objects? Yeah. As of now, yes.'
Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala got engaged on August 8, 2024. On December 4, the two got married at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad in the presence of family members and friends.Must Watch

While everything was going smoothly and the actress was all set to become 'Bachchan Bahu', the engagement was broken off after a few months. The duo, who had been in a five-year relationship, called off their marriage after announcing their engagement. Karisma had revealed that it was a traumatic experience for her, and the Kapoor clan helped her get out of this tough phase. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 'It is time I spoke. I owe it to everyone. The beginning of this year was traumatic for me. I wouldn't wish any girl to go through it. I was forced to deal with my hurt and pain on my own. I guess time is the best healer. Though I have been through a lot, I have come to terms with whatever has happened. All I will say is, whatever is destined is bound to happen. I was emotionally unprepared to confront my problems. Life deals you different cards. You have to just go with the shuffle," Karisma told Subhash Jha. 'I want to thank the media for being so understanding and supportive. Everyone left me alone. I don't want to say anything more on this except that I couldn't have come out my trauma if it wasn't for my parents [Babita and Randhir Kapoor], sister [Kareena], my Dadiji [Krishna Raj Kapoor], my two Buas [Rima Jain and Ritu Nanda] and my close friends," she added. While the real reason behind this breakup is only known to them, in 2005 when Big B and Abhishek Bachchan appeared on Koffee With Karan, the veteran actor said, 'It was a sensitive moment. Relationships are being formed, relationships are being destroyed. It can be distressing for any young man, and obviously distressing for the family. We don't wish that to happen to anyone, but if the circumstances are not conducive for a union, then it's better that you go different ways. That's what happened."
