Ezra Mam's raw admission on Spencer Leniu saga and car crash that causes mass outrage
Broncos star Ezra Mam has opened up about the car crash that left a woman and child injured as well as what was said between him and Spencer Leniu, ending a feud that stemmed from the Las Vegas racism saga.
Last October, Mam made headlines for all the wrong reasons after his ute crashed into an Uber at Bardon, just outside of Brisbane injuring a woman and child.

Mam passed the breathalyser test, but a roadside drug swap returned a positive reading to cocaine.
Mam pleaded guilty to one count of driving while relevant drug is present in the blood and driving without a licence.
But while the Magistrate was relatively lenient, the NRL was less so.
The 22-year-old was slapped with a combined $120,000 in fines from the NRL and the Broncos and was handed a nine-game ban.
Speaking about the ordeal, Mam says the whole experience has given him a different outlook on life, acknowledging in hindsight that he was previously very selfish.
'In hindsight, I didn't think about how my actions can impact others,' he said in an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald.
'Obviously I'm trying my best to learn from that now, I'm here to make better decisions for myself. There's no excuse for my actions, I've got to own that now.
'I'm still learning to deal with everything. I feel very remorseful for everything that happened.
'For me, I was dealing with stuff in the wrong way. I need to learn from that. That's how I grow as a person. Experiences like this, you can take a lot away from it and I feel like I've taken a lot away from this situation to improve myself in many different ways.'
Mam returned to the NRL for the Broncos against the Dragons in round 11 and was back to his scintillating best.
Such was the strength of his performances that he was called into Billy Slater's Queensland squad for Origin Game 2.
Mam was named 18th man for Game 2. And it incredibly allowed him to put another saga behind him, the feud with Blues enforcer Spencer Leniu.
Vision from after Game 2 on Wednesday showed Leniu approach Queensland's 18th man after full-time, with the pair engaging in a brief conversation that ended in an embrace.

The touching moment showed they have seemingly finally buried the hatched some 16 months after Leniu labelled Mam a 'monkey' in the Las Vegas season opener between the Roosters and Broncos in 2024.
Leniu copped an eight-match ban for the slur which he insisted was unintentional and was nothing more than 'one brown man saying something to another brown man'.
But in a great show of character, after full-time, Leniu sought out Mam to bury the hatchet and clear the air with the Broncos star.
And Mam revealed he has accepted Leniu's apology and says it is all in the past now.
'We were able to have a chat and put everything behind us. I won't go into much detail about what was said, but I'm happy he came up to me and we're able to move forward now and get on with the year,' Mam told SMH.

Family demands answers after Jason Rigby's ‘suicide' stabbing death in Fiji
The family of an Australian man who died under mysterious circumstances while working at a hotel in Fiji, are demanding answers after his death was ruled a suicide. Jason Rigby, 40, was working as acting manager of Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay Resort on December 14 last year when he was found unconscious in the bathroom of a suite with stab wounds to his chest. Speaking to 60 Minutes, friend and colleague Arushi Arora said Jason was found by two people with stab wounds. Upon finding Jason, one person called Ms Arora and ordered her to call an ambulance, adding Jason had 'stabbed himself' in the apartment. Ms Arora then ran into the bathroom, where she said she found the 40yo 'half lying there' with a 'couple of injuries to his chest'. He was declared dead at the scene. Born in Christchurch, Jason eventually settled on the Gold Coast, where he became a surf lifesaver and eventually followed his father's footsteps by entering the hotel business. Remembered as a fun-loving and adventure-seeking guy, his brother Chris told The Australian he 'loved his freedom and doing what he wanted'. Jason's heartbroken family said they were left in the dark about his death for 10 hours, when they learned the news from Queensland Police. When brother Peter Rigby spoke to Jason's girlfriend, she said she understood his death was a suicide. Fiji Police also said the cause of death was suicide, and confirmed there would be 'no criminal investigation' into the incident. However, Jason's family are demanding an investigation be launched into his death, adding they were offered 'little-to-no information' about the circumstances of the incident. They have enlisted a private investigator and former UK police detective, Phil Jones, to unearth any evidence about the death. Chris doesn't think his brother's death was a suicide, and believes there was 'foul play' involved. 'I think something's happened a couple of days leading up (to James' death),' he told 60 Minutes. 'We don't know what that is, but, um we could be missing something.' Professor Roger Byard said the official explanation for Jason's death didn't add up, and said the local police should have treated his death as a homicide immediately. 'Suicidal stabbings are so uncommon, and you don't want to miss a homicide,' he said. They have since hired legal representation to push the case, which they said has been upgraded into a murder investigation. Jason's family said investigations into his death determined the knife found at the scene did not belong to him, sparking further questions about its origins. 'We're going to keep fighting until we, until we get those answers,' Chris said. 'We just want justice for him. We can't bring him back ... but at least justice. That's what we want.' The family said Jason's death was now the subject of a coronial inquest at the Nadi Magistrates Court. However, on Sunday, Fiji Police Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime Mesake Waqa told local outlet Fijivillage there was no indication of any foul play. He added investigations into Jason's death were ongoing and urged for the family's patience.

‘Outrageous': State of Origin move sparks furore as Ashley Klein set to be named for series decider
Ashley Klein is set to be handed the officiating reins for the State of Origin decider despite his controversial performance in Perth which left New South Wales fans and players outraged. The Blues were on the wrong end of an 8-0 first half penalty count in Game 2, which turned into 9-0 after 45 minutes. By that stage, Queensland were up 26-6. In the end, Queensland won 26-24, but the NSW camp felt they were officiated out of the game and scheduled a meeting with NRL management to seek an explanation for several of Klein's controversial calls. The Blues' main gripe was why Klein chose to ignore numerous clear indiscretions by Maroons players while penalising the Blues for similar offences. However, despite the Blues' protests, Code Sports reports Klein will again be in charge of the series decider. That is because the NRL referees are rated under a KPI system by the league and by the numbers Klein is at the top of the list. Categories measured include play-the-ball speed, decision-making, communication, game understanding, accuracy, communication with other officials, consistency, identifying infringements, positioning, game management, ruck communication, positioning, fitness and endurance. His appointment in Sydney will be under heavy scrutiny and will undoubtedly be met with fierce backlash. Speaking about his Game 2 performance earlier this week Buzz Rothfield tore into the veteran ref, saying his calls cost the Blues the game and series win in Perth. 'I think NSW were ill-disciplined and I don't have too many problems with the nine penalties they conceded. The problem I do have is that anyone can look at a replay of that first half and find 4-5 areas of the game where Queensland could quite easily have been penalised as well,' Rothfield said. 'In my eyes, he was refereeing one side for the majority of the first half. 'I know we were ill-disciplined and I'm not blaming it for the loss … but Gordie you cannot be perfect in Origin for 45 minutes. Impossible.' 'It's outrageous that Queensland can play 45 minutes in State of Origin and that intensity, mistakes are made, high speed, high intensity and not one penalty. That cannot happen.' He also went on to say NSW Blues coach Laurie Daley – who refused to answer any question on the officiating after the Game 2 defeat – was privately furious at Klein. 'Laurie will look at the video and find out what he wants to talk to the NRL about and then take it to adjudication,' Rothfield continued. 'He was furious after the game. Privately furious, but he knows he can't come out and say anything. Not just for the fine, but because it'll look like poor sportsmanship.' And as news of Klein's Game 3 appointment spread NSW fans were unsurprisingly annoyed. 'You've got to be kidding,' one fan wrote. 'What an absolute joke!' another added. While a third commented: 'Surely he's not the best ref we have.' NSW will have a home-ground advantage for the series decider, which will take place at Sydney's Accor Stadium on Wednesday, July 9.
