Ex-Bond girl Denise Richards reveals her ‘amazing' choice for the next James Bond as casting rumors swirl

New York Post22-05-2025

The name is Aaron… Aaron Phypers.
At least, that's the moniker Denise Richards would throw in the ring to play the Martini-sipping 007 next.
The actress, 54, is no stranger to the Bond universe, as she starred as Dr. Christmas Jones alongside Pierce Brosnan, who played James Bond, in the 1999 action/thriller 'The World Is Not Enough.'

Speculation about who the new British Secret Service agent will be has been swirling, but Richards thinks her husband of seven years would be a dashing fit.
'I really don't even know,' the 'Wild Things' vet exclusively told The Post during The Jonathan Foundation Fundraiser on Saturday, before Phypers, 52, chimed in, 'I would do it.'
'He would be an amazing Bond,' Richards concurred, to which the wellness guru added, 'I could do it. No problem.'

'I don't even know who is in the mix,' Richards admitted. 'I know they will cast someone amazing.'
Looking back at her time as a Bond girl, the reality star couldn't help but gush over the entire experience from start to finish.
'Just being part of it,' Richards said of her favorite memory. 'I didn't understand the magnitude of that movie until it came out, and it is amazing the generations that love the film. So, just the whole process and everything was such a whirlwind, amazing time.'

There's no word if Richards would return to the new era of the franchise, but Daniel Craig's portrayal of Bond came to an end in 2021's 'No Time to Die.'
In February, franchise producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson sold a stake of the movies to Amazon MGM Studios for a reported $1 billion.
By March, news broke that Amy Pascal — who helped bring Craig, 57, in as the 7th Bond — and David Heyman would be spearheading the next James Bond project.

Along with Craig and Brosnan, 72, other Bonds in the franchise include Sean Connery, David Niven, George Lazenby, Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton.
In March, Brosnan, who took on the role from 1995 to 2002, said it's a 'given' that the next man to suit up must be British.
'History has been passed on,' the Irish star said. 'And I'm very proud to have been part of the history and the legacy of Bond and the movies that I made with Barbara and Michael.'

Richards, meanwhile, has traded in her spy gear for mom gear, as she raises daughters Sami, 21, and Lola, 19, whom she shares with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, and daughter Eloise, 13, whom she adopted in 2011. Years later, Phypers legally adopted Eloise.
Their youngest daughter was diagnosed with chromosome 8 in 2016, which has caused developmental delays for the teen.
Nevertheless, Eloise is thriving.

'She's doing amazing,' the former 'RHOBH' star shared. 'She really is. We are very fortunate that we're able to provide that for her, but she's turning 14 and there are a lot of challenges.'
Richards told The Post that Eloise has taught the Malibu residents several things about themselves.
'Patience,' the mom of three stated. 'She is an angel, and just the littlest things make her so happy. [It's taught us] to enjoy the small things and enjoy the smaller things in life.'

Phypers added, 'She's so special.'
Earlier this year, their half-hour reality series, 'Denise Richards & Her Wild Things,' debuted on Bravo.
Richards revealed that the cast, which included Sheen's ex-wife Brooke Mueller and their 16-year-old twins Bob and Max, filmed more than what aired.

'We filmed so much footage you can put into an episode,' she admitted. 'I'm glad people want more instead of being like, 'When is this thing over?' So I'm glad that people seem to really like the show, and we're very blessed, and hopefully we will be back for another season.'
During filming, Richards gave the audience a look into a photoshoot she did for a potential cooking show titled 'Only Pans' — and yes, there is something brewing.
'There are some things,' confessed the star. 'I've been asked to do a couple of things, which I am excited about. So we will see.'

Phypers, for his part, would be more than happy to sweeten the deal and act as sous-chef.
'I'll lend a hand wherever I can,' he expressed.
'He's better at cutting things with the knife. I am terrible!' Richards said, to which Phypers chimed in: 'Definitely the clean-up part.'
The pair tied the knot in Malibu in 2018, with Richards sharing in a statement at the time, 'I am so happy to officially be married to the love of my life!'

Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz's daughter opens up about her famous dad's alleged affairs: ‘They were hookers'

Desi, you got some 'splainin' to do. Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz's only daughter, Lucie Arnaz, recently opened up about the alleged affairs her father had while still married to the 'I Love Lucy' starlet. But Lucie wouldn't consider her famous dad's suspected infidelities 'affairs' because he allegedly only cheated on Ball with 'hookers' whose names 'he didnt even know.' 8 Lucie Arnaz recently opened up about her parents Desi Arnaz and Lucile Ball's marriage, as well as his suspected infidelities, in a new interview. CBS 8 Lucie wouldn't consider her dad's suspected infidelities 'affairs' because he allegedly only cheated on Ball with 'hookers.' Getty Images 'People say he had affairs,' Lucie, 73, told CBS Sunday Morning in a new interview. 'He never had an affair.' 'He didn't even know these dames' names, you know?' she added. 'They were hookers.' Even though Lucie admitted that her father likely cheated on her Hollywood icon mom, she also insisted that Desi 'loved' Ball and that Ball 'understood' that. 8 'People say he had affairs. He never had an affair,' Lucie said. 'He didn't even know these dames' names, you know? They were hookers.' CBS 'He loved my mother. He loved his family. It was a very unique, weird problem to have, and I think that's the reason she stayed with him so long, is that she understood it,' she continued. 'I don't think I could do what she did.' 'But somehow at the time, with what they had, with what they needed from each other, they stuck it out as long as they could,' Lucie added. The 'I Love Lucy' stars married in November 1940 and, 11 years later, introduced audiences across the country to the show that some say 'invented' the modern sitcom. 8 Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball married in November 1940. Getty Images Desi, who was a successful musician and bandleader before playing Ricky Ricardo in 'I Love Lucy,' and Ball, who was an aspiring actress before she exploded in popularity as Lucy Ricardo on the show, welcomed Lucie just six weeks after they filmed the first episode. Although Ball reportedly wanted to name her daughter Susan, Desi allegedly went behind his wife's back and changed it to Lucie on the birth certificate. The couple later welcomed a son, Desi Arnaz Jr., in 1953. 8 The 'I Love Lucy' stars welcomed daughter Lucie in 1951 and son Desi Jr. in 1953. Getty Images But Ball ultimately filed for divorce from Desi in March 1960 after 20 tumultuous years of marriage. 'It got so bad that I thought it would be better for us not to be together,' the actress and comedian reportedly told the court during her and Desi's divorce proceedings. 'They were just going through a routine for the children,' biographer Bart Andrews later told People in 1991. 'She told me that for the last five years of their marriage, it was 'just booze and broads.'' 8 Ball filed for divorce from Desi in March 1960 after 20 tumultuous years of marriage. Getty Images The rise and fall of the couple's relationship was depicted in the 2021 biopic 'Being the Ricardos' – which Lucie recently called 'so wrong' and 'such a crock of poop.' Meanwhile, Lucie can still remember exactly where she and her little brother were when they learned that their parents were splitting up. 'We were at their house in Palm Springs,' she told CBS Sunday Morning. 'And they said that, 'We love each other, but the being-husband-and-wife part is broken. And we can't live together anymore.'' 8 Lucie still remembers exactly where she and her little brother were when they learned that their parents were splitting up. CBS 'And I remember that my brother said, 'But if it's broken, can't you just fix it? Can't you put stuff on it and fix it?'' Lucie added. 'And they said, 'I don't think so.'' Lucie also admitted that her parents were 'happier' after their split. 'The truth of it is, they were happier after they got divorced,' she admitted. 'The screaming and the arguing and all that stuff stopped.' 8 'The truth of it is, they were happier after they got divorced,' Lucie admitted. Getty Images Both stars remarried following their 1960 divorce. Desi tied the knot with family friend Edith Mack Hirschin in 1963, and they remained married until her passing in 1985. He later died from lung cancer in December 1986 at the age of 69. As for Ball, she married comedian Gary Morton in 1962. They remained married until Ball tragically passed away following a ruptured aortic aneurysm in April 1989. She was 77.

I've ditched HR to free my company from the social-justice police

'I want to be the first company without HR.' It was just a throwaway comment I made this month at a conference called Freedom Fest — but the audience went wild, and the line went viral in an Instagram post with over 5 million views. 'They produce nothing,' I continued. 'They monitor our words. They tell us what we can and cannot say. Advertisement 'They inhibit creativity. It's bad for business.' At my own start-up — XX-XY Athletics, the only brand standing up for the protection of women's sports — I'll be damned if I'm going to let the ladies of 'The View' run around policing my employees' conversations. We started with no Human Resources department a year ago, and we'll continue with no HR as we grow. Advertisement My statement touched a nerve because anyone who has worked in corporate America has been subjected to the censorious 'Head Girl' rule-making emanating from HR departments. And they are tired of it. When I started my business career in the early 1990s, HR was responsible for recruiting, benefits and payroll — that was it. As I moved up the ladder and found myself in executive meetings, the HR leader weighed in last on key business decisions, if at all. Advertisement Thirty years on, HR leaders are calling themselves 'Chief Human Resources Officers,' and they proclaim their power with reckless and off-topic abandon. HR departments today are packed with Tracy Flicks, the way-too-eager high schooler played by Reese Witherspoon in the movie 'Election.' Flick is the archetypal 'Head Girl,' a term derived from the British school system and its tight hierarchy of internal discipline — ambitious and officious with little actual skill or intellect. Hand-raisers like these are not selected to lead for intelligence or ability, but for conscientiousness and a willingness to uphold 'the rules.' Advertisement That was fine when HR had no power. But now, after yearning for a seat at the table, HR's midwit elites have found a way to exert increasing influence in the corporate environment — leveraging social-justice buzzwords to accrue power and (what else?) make more rules. In the 2020s, HR asserts its newly found clout with tyrannical zeal. When I interviewed in 2023 for a CEO job at an $8 billion retailer, I made it all the way to the end of the corporate leadership receiving line, successfully fielding queries on my business acumen and brand-building accomplishments. My last interview was with the HR representative on the board. Her first question: 'Will you apologize for what you've done?' By 2023 I'd been proven right. That didn't matter to the HR lady. I'd violated her tightly enforced script. Advertisement I didn't apologize, and I didn't get the job. Over the last two decades, HR has gone from operational support to Operation Head Girl Hall Monitor. They force-feed trainings about acceptable language; they make 'merit' out to be racist; and they set hiring criteria based on risk avoidance rather than excellence. But hiring people who don't offend anyone won't result in employees who take initiative and make things. Advertisement Am I being sexist in calling them Head Girls? In 2023, 76% of HR managers in the United States were female. The shoe fits. (And yes, men can be Head Girl types, too.) British academic Bruce Charlton explains the Head Girl 'can never be a creative genius because she does what other people want by the standard they most value.' That's why the Head Girls of HR made everyone add pronouns to their email signatures starting around 2020: Social standards. Not because it drove the business. Advertisement No, these time-suckers shift focus away from the business. Front-of-house employees — builders, makers and service providers — must spend a significant amount of time thinking about the words they use rather than their actual jobs. Critics of my viral comment pushed back at me: 'You need HR to avoid unnecessary risk!' they chorused. Right. That's the fear HR leverages to maintain its unearned influence. Advertisement Risk avoidance means hiring mediocre people with no opinions who never offend anyone. Those hires won't take my one-year-old start-up to big-brand status. I want big thinkers with creative minds. Sometimes these folks are disruptive. But there are no new products or breakthrough marketing campaigns without them. My company is a walking, talking HR violation. We 'misgender' all day long. In fact, speaking truth (as I call it) is required to work here. We're not in school anymore. We don't need a persnickety Miss Manners etiquette-enforcer telling us to be nice. I'll continue to go it alone without HR. I'll assume the so-called risk so I can lead in my own voice. And I'll succeed, or fail, on my own terms. Jennifer Sey is founder and CEO of XX-XY Athletics.
