Wife of Giants' reliever Sean Hjelle posts allegations of abuse on TikTok

A day after Sean Hjelle 's wife, Caroline, posted allegations of abuse against the San Francisco Giants reliever, the team issued a release Satruday morning saying they are looking into it. 'We are aware of these serious allegations,' the statement reads. 'We have been in contact with MLB. These type of allegations fall under their jurisdiction and we won't be commenting further.' On Friday, Caroline Hjelle posted a photo on TikTok of her with the couple's two young children along with a caption that reads, 'When my MLB husband abandons us on Mothers Day a week after this (video was taken) once I finally found about his affairs and stopped putting up with his abuse, so I've been raising two boys alone.' She added below that, 'Yeah I've had to be silent for (too) long about this,' with hashtags that included #divorce #cheating #infidelity and #mlb. Major League Baseball handles all investigations into allegations of spousal abuse, working in conjunction with the Players Association after creating a domestic violence policy in 2015. The commissioner can suspend any player suspected of such violations of the policy for up to seven days while an investigation is ongoing, but that does not seem to have happened in this case. Hjelle, 28, is a 6-foot-11 right-hander who has a 4.66 ERA in six games this year, with seven strikeouts in 9 ⅔ innings. Sunday, he made his first ever big-league start after Kyle Harrison was traded to Boston in the Rafael Devers deal. He has made 87 appearances for the Giants overall in parts of four seasons.

Wild Trade Idea Has Yankees Landing One Of League's Bona Fide Superstars

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. The New York Yankees have been searching for third base help since Oswaldo Cabrera went down with an ankle fracture, ending his season. Zachary Rymer of Bleacher Report believes that the answer could be in one of the league's premier names: José Ramírez of the Cleveland Guardians. More Photo by Thearon W. Henderson/Getty Images Ramírez seems like a bit of a stretch, and Rymer acknowledges that in his article, But he would be a prime candidate for the Guardians' history of dumping large contracts at their highest value. The Guardians are in second place in the American League Central and are a half-game back of the final wild card spot, but the Detroit Tigers are running away with the division and aren't looking back. The Guardians can still make the playoffs this season, but if they take one wrong turn in August or September, they might be looking to offload Ramírez in the offseason anyway due to Detroit's dominance. While Ramírez holds a full no-trade clause, he can still decide where he wants to go if the team decides to move on from him. Ramírez is 32 and is running out of time in what most outlets consider to be the prime of a baseball player. The Yankees would make sense as they search for an answer at third base and their history of taking on big contracts. This may feel far-fetched, but it could be closer to reality than standings-watchers realize, as there is a clear difference between where the Guardians and Tigers are in the lifecycle of a baseball team. New Red Sox prospect records first hit after coming over in Devers trade

James Tibbs III, the top prospect coming to the Red Sox in the Rafael Devers trade, notched his first hit with the organization Wednesday night. Currently ranked as Boston's No. 6 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, Tibbs recorded a single the other way to left field for AA Portland in a home loss to Akron. Advertisement In the contest, Tibbs also scored his first run and earned his first walk for the Sea Dogs. Wednesday's game followed an underwhelming debut for Tibbs with Portland. The 22-year-old lefty started off his time with the Sea Dogs going 0-for-4 at the plate with three strikeouts. In both contests, the outfielder started in right and hit second in the batting order. Tibbs joins Portland after playing 57 games and posting an .857 OPS at High-A Eugene Emeralds. Before debuting for the Sea Dogs, the former top pick had never played beyond High-A. Tibbs was one of four players traded by the San Francisco Giants to the Red Sox for Devers on Sunday, June 15. Before he was traded, MLB Pipeline had Tibbs ranked as the fourth best prospect in San Francisco's organization. Advertisement The Giants selected the outfielder 13th overall in last year's MLB Draft, after he slashed .363/.488/.777 as a junior with Florida State. Tibbs was shipped along with 20-year-old pitcher Jose Bello who was assigned to Boston's Florida Complex League, 23-year-old pitcher Kyle Harrison who is in Worcester, and 28-year-old reliever Jordan Hicks who is currently on the 15-Day Injured List. In his first two games with the Giants, Devers went 2-for-8 with one double, one RBI, and a walk. Read the original article on MassLive.
