Plenty of talent has fallen by the wayside or faded away for all kinds of reasons. But the one thing most of them lacked was that old, reliable trait: Last June, at the Dartmouth College commencement ceremony, Roger Federer said: 'It's not about having a gift. It's about having grit.'Players often chase numbers, yet when Manpreet says, 'It's just a number,' you believe him.
