Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) participated in the prestigious World Police Summit, demonstrating its commitment to advancing smart learning and fostering collaboration between academia and the security sector. The event was held under the esteemed patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and organised by the General Command of Dubai Police at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
During the event, HBMSU showcased its cutting-edge research projects, innovative technological solutions, and pioneering contributions to the evolution of smart education by being a part of the summit's 'Academic Area'. The University also highlighted its ongoing strategic efforts to bolster cooperation between academic institutions and security agencies, paving the way for sustainable development of the law enforcement and police sciences.
Ali Langawi, Director of the Business Development Department at HBMSU, stated: 'Our participation in this global event underscores HBMSU's long-standing vision to drive innovation and nurture sustainable partnerships. We firmly believe that strategic alliances between educational institutions and security companies are integral to building a robust knowledge ecosystem which enhances security, education, and societal progress.'
In this regard, the 'Academic Area' served as a premier platform for highlighting groundbreaking research, advanced policing technologies, as well as the academic achievements of both students and faculty. Moreover, it facilitated important discourses and knowledge exchange, further strengthening existing partnerships between the academic and security sectors, both regionally and internationally.

The partnership between Yango Group and the Rashid Center for People of Determination aims to bridge this gap by providing tailored tools and services that meet the needs of students of determination. As part of the collaboration, Yango Group has donated smart speakers powered by a bilingual, human-like AI assistant, Yasmina, to the Rashid Center for People of Determination. These devices support voice interaction in both Arabic and English, giving students an accessible way to engage with technology. Furthermore, to support students and families connected to the center, Yango Ride will offer 60 rides per user annually, discounted at 20%, easing transportation costs. Complementing these efforts, Yango Play, the company's entertainment and streaming platform, will provide free yearly subscriptions to the Rashid Center for People of Determination and its students, offering a range of carefully curated Arabic-language content that is both educational and age-appropriate, designed to promote a safe and enriching media environment. 'With AI now shaping the future of education, work, and communication, it's vital that students of determination are not left on the margins,' commented Islam Abdul Karim, the Regional Head of Yango Group Middle East. 'This partnership is about removing barriers across learning, mobility, and access to technology. The company will also host digital safety workshops for students, families, and educators, covering topics such as online protection, content rating understanding, and secure streaming practices. The Rashid Center for People of Determination will also work with Yango Ride to train drivers on how to provide compassionate and accessible service to passengers of determination, ensuring safe and respectful travel. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has announced the launch of the second phase of the UAE's Zero Government Bureaucracy programme, reaffirming the country's commitment to building a globally leading, efficient, and citizen-centric model of government service delivery. Unveiled at a high-level event in Dubai, the second phase builds on the success of the programme's initial rollout, which cut service delivery times by over 70%, eliminated more than 4,000 unnecessary procedures, and saved the public an estimated 12 million hours and AED 1.12 billion annually. The initiative, overseen by over 30 government entities and 690 teams, aims to eliminate complexity across services by leveraging advanced technologies and best practices. The new phase targets the complete removal of digital bureaucracy, greater system integration, and the modernization of all digital applications. 'We are working toward a government without complexity, services without waiting times, and results that tangibly improve people's lives,' said Sheikh Mohammed. He praised the collective efforts of the entities involved, calling their contributions a model for future governance. Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Al Gergawi emphasized that the programme aligns with the leadership's vision to enhance citizen services through simplification and innovation. He noted that the coming phase will focus on digital uptime, data sharing, and seamless collaboration across agencies. This marks the first time the program is offered in Egypt as a joint academic degree between the two universities, based on the smart learning model. The ceremony was attended by academic leaders from both institutions, including Dr. Mostafa Mahmoud Nour El-Din, Vice Chancellor for International Cooperation; Dr. Ahmed Ankit, Acting Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; and Dr. Fahad Mohammed Rashid Al Saadi, Vice Chancellor for Learner Development. From Alexandria University, attendees included Prof. Dr. Hisham Saeed, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Dr. Sameh Shehata, Supervisor of the International Relations Office; and Dr. Bushra Salem, Deputy Supervisor of the Office. It is worth noting that the 'Master of Science in Innovation and Change Management' program was launched in the academic year 2020–2021 under the hybrid learning model. It targets graduate students who aim to gain advanced skills in leading change, applying innovation strategies, and addressing transformation challenges in various work environments by developing creative thinking tools and building a flexible organizational culture responsive to future shifts.
