Express Tribune18-04-2025

Becky G is set to premiere a new documentary, Rebbeca (AKA Becky G), at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. The festival will run from June 4 to 15, and the project was announced as part of this year's official line-up on April 16.
Directed and produced by Jennifer Tiexiera—best known for HBO's Unveiled: Surviving La Luz del Mundo—and Gabriela Cavanagh, the film explores Becky G's personal and artistic journey while creating her first música mexicana album, Esquinas, which was released in 2023.
Becky G, whose real name is Rebbeca Marie Gomez, rose to fame with pop hits like 'Shower,' and genre-blending collaborations such as 'Mayores' with Bad Bunny and 'Mamiii' with Karol G. She has also appeared in film and television, including her role as the Yellow Ranger in the 2017 Power Rangers reboot and a voice cameo in 2023's Blue Beetle.
The documentary's synopsis notes that Becky G revisits her cultural roots and reflects on a complex past while working on Esquinas. Following the film's premiere, she is also scheduled to perform at the festival.
Ticket packages for Tribeca 2025 are currently available on the official festival website. Single-day tickets will be released to Tribeca members on April 24 and to the general public on April 29.
The documentary marks a reflective moment in Becky G's career, coming on the heels of her second música mexicana album, Encuentros, released in 2024.

Ralph Fiennes has one key tip for HBO's next Voldemort

As excitement builds around HBO's upcoming Harry Potter TV series, original Voldemort actor Ralph Fiennes has weighed in with a bit of unconventional and hilarious advice for whoever ends up taking over the iconic role. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight while promoting 28 Years Later alongside co-star Jodie Comer, Fiennes was asked what guidance he'd offer to the next actor brave enough to portray the dark wizard. 'Make sure you can handle the long, flowing robes, and don't trip over them,' Fiennes said with a laugh. 'Practice your long, flowing robe walk.' Reflecting on the behind-the-scenes realities of playing the role from 2005 to 2011, Fiennes revealed a lesser-known costume issue he faced while filming the original Harry Potter film series. The tights, originally part of a one-piece costume, proved more trouble than they were worth. 'They had a gusset that kept getting lower and lower throughout the day, it became really uncomfortable,' he shared. Eventually, he requested a change: 'I then asked for individual tights, like a garter belt,' he said, adding with a grin, 'So I enjoyed teasing the stunt guys by lifting up my robes and showing them my garter belt.' HBO's reboot, which aims to closely follow J.K. Rowling's beloved books, is slated to arrive in late 2026 or early 2027, according to HBO and Max Content CEO Casey Bloys. While casting for the role of Voldemort remains under wraps, fans are already speculating about who might step into Fiennes' shoes.

Bad Bunny tells fans not to expect Taylor Swift-style tour as he prepares for global stadium run

Bad Bunny is preparing to launch his next global stadium tour—but he's urging fans not to expect a Taylor Swift-style retrospective. In a new interview with Variety, the Puerto Rican star—born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio—emphasized that the tour will focus on his latest album, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, rather than offering a career-spanning showcase. 'First of all, I'm not Taylor Swift,' he said. 'I want to clarify now so that they don't get so excited: It's not going to be organized that way. It's still very much a tour for DeBÍ, with some older songs sprinkled in.' Produced by Live Nation, the tour kicks off November 21 in the Dominican Republic. He will perform in Costa Rica and Mexico before continuing in January through Colombia and other Latin American countries. In late February, he will head to Brazil and Australia for the first time, followed by a debut in Japan. From May to July, he'll visit European cities including Madrid, Lisbon, Berlin, and Paris. Ahead of the global run, Bad Bunny will also headline a 30-date residency at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot this summer. The concerts are expected to draw approximately 250,000 fans to his home island. Even as he downplays expectations, demand tells a different story. According to figures shared with Billboard by Live Nation, the tour has already sold 2.6 million tickets and is on track to generate hundreds of millions in revenue. He will also become the first Spanish-language artist to perform stadium shows in seven of the countries on his itinerary. The record-breaking numbers confirm Bad Bunny's continued rise as a global force—on his own terms.

Bad Bunny explains why he is skipping US cities during the Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour

Bad Bunny has confirmed that his upcoming Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour will not include performances in the United States. In a recent interview with Variety, the Puerto Rican superstar called American shows "unnecessary" and shared that his focus is on creating meaningful live experiences, particularly for fans closer to home. The decision comes as he prepares for an extensive 30-date residency in San Juan, Puerto Rico, titled No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí, which begins on July 11 and ends on September 14 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico. Bad Bunny described the residency's title, which translates to I Don't Want to Leave Here, as a reflection of his deep emotional connection to his homeland. While some fans find the move unusual, others believe it is a statement especially in light of the current political climate of the US as the Trump administration, facilitated by ICE, continues its crackdown on Hispanic immigrants. When asked about a potential concert film for US fans, his manager Noah Assad said there have been discussions, but added that they prefer not to release permanent footage of shows. Bad Bunny's Debí Tirar Más Fotos tour is set to launch in November and will support his sixth solo album, which recently achieved strong first-week sales. Despite skipping US dates, his impact continues to grow internationally.
