David Beckham's children celebrate his Knighthood but Brooklyn's response speaks volumes
David Beckham's children have shared sweet public posts online - however, Brooklyn has decided against it.
David Beckham's children have congratulated their father after he finally received his knighthood and became Sir David. However, eldest son Brooklyn Beckham's silence on the huge milestone has spoken volumes compared to his siblings.
The football star, 50, has been after the accolade for sport and charity work for years. Now, his dreams have finally come true as he has been made a Sir and his wife is now Lady Victoria Beckham.
Back in 2013, it was thought that his chances of Knighthood were dashed when explosive emails were leaked where he reportedly slammed the Honours Committee for not including him on the list, referring to them as "unappreciative c***s."
However, time went on luckily for David, and King Charles even dropped a hint last month when they were pictured together at the Chelsea Flower Show.
Charles asked him: 'You got it, didn't you?' Before David replied: 'It was incredible, thank you. It was very kind.' David, who is a proud dad to sons Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and daughter Harper, has been celebrated by his family as his achievement has become reality.
David's Knighthood is welcome news for the Beckham family as they have been embroiled in a family feud with eldest son Brooklyn and his wife Nicola Peltz. Things were apparently tense between the family when Brooklyn and Nicola didn't attend David's 50th birthday celebrations as the drama has reportedly resulted in the couple cutting contact with the entire family.
Despite the ongoing feud, David's children have come together to show their support. Cruz and Romeo have both shared gushing tributes on their social media pages. Romeo Beckham shared a sweet post for his dad on Instagram, shortly after the news was released on Friday night.
David and Victoria's second eldest son posted a photo of himself and his dad at David's 50th birthday celebration. The snap showed a smiling Romeo looking lovingly at his dad as David pulls a face at the camera.
"So so proud of you," Romeo gushed as he added four white heart emojis to the post. Meanwhile, David's son Cruz, 20, also shared a tribute to his dad's achievement.
Cruz posted a picture of his beloved dad smiling during their trip to Scotland and wrote: "I'm so proud dad I love you" before he added: "Sir David Beckham Has a nice ring to it".
Romeo, 22, shared a sweet four-word tribute to his dad on Instagram this morning alongside a black and white image with him. The message read: "So proud of you" which David later shared to his stories.
However, Brooklyn, who reportedly wasn't told about the accolade, has stayed silent about his dad's knighthood online – posting normally with no mention of his dad's Knighthood.
The silence speaks volumes as the budding chef shared three packets of pretzel pita chips on his Instagram story following the news that David was being made a Sir by His Majesty.
Doubling down on the refusal to post a tribute, Brooklyn shared a later snap on his Instagram story as he captured an image of a tin of caviar alongside a bottle of his brand, Cloud 23, hot sauce along with a bottle of wine and two drinking glasses.

'I designed Princess Diana's wedding dress - one problem nearly ruined it all'
Royal wedding dress designer Elizabeth Emanuel tells the story of the gown that defined a fashion era – as she and her former husband David give the behind-the-scenes scoop in a revealing new documentary With its voluminous ivory silk taffeta skirt, puffy sleeves and 25ft train, it was the dress that defined an era. But as Princess Diana climbed out of her horse-drawn glass coach at St Paul's Cathedral for her wedding to Prince Charles on July 29, 1981, its designers, Elizabeth Emanuel and her now ex-husband David, looked on in horror. 'It was a big dress because it needed to be seen in the cathedral,' Elizabeth recalls. 'Diana had the height to carry it off but she lost a lot of weight and we had to leave it until the last moment to make the final dress. 'Each bodice we made was too big, and we had to start again. She went to a tiny 23in waist.' Nobody knew about Diana's eating disorder at the time and Elizabeth explains: 'All brides lose weight, so we didn't think anything of it.' But there was a hitch – the huge train had to be folded up to fit in the wedding carriage, which meant that when the bride emerged, watched by a global TV audience of 750 million viewers, her gown was creased. David, 72, recalls: 'Diana's father Lord Spencer was quite a large gentleman. He got into the carriage first and we thought, 'Oh Lord, there's not much room for Diana.' We had to roll up the train and stuff it in.' As Diana walked up the steps with her bridesmaids, Elizabeth says: 'We knew it wasn't going to stay creased but it was still horrible. I thought, 'Oh my God, my career is finished.'' It was far from it, of course. A new documentary, Secrets of Diana's Wedding Dress, reveals the commission was the making of Elizabeth and David. Digging into their archives of drawings, unseen personal photographs, original fabrics and amazing stories, the former couple reveal their close relationship with Diana. 'The moment we got that call from Diana asking, 'Would you do me the honour of making my wedding dress?', life changed for us for ever,' says Elizabeth. 'The only downside is no matter what I do, I'm still known primarily for that.' After Buckingham Palace announced the Emanuels were to make Diana's dress, TV cameras besieged their Mayfair studio where seamstresses were busily sewing 10,000 pearls to the dress and thousands of tiny sequins to the train of tulle and lace chiffon veil. Over-zealous reporters even went through the studio bins. 'We deliberately chucked a bit of pink fabric to put them off the scent,' David chuckles. Elizabeth, 71, and David split in 1990. She says: 'That's all the past now. No matter our differences he played a very important part in the wedding. We have separate lives but we share our children and we have a grandson.' Still sporting her 1980s hairdo – as recognisable as Di's wedding dress – she adds: 'I do get spotted, usually when I least want to. But it's quite handy in a cafe – I get my coffee quicker.' Every inch of space in Elizabeth's tiny Maida Vale basement studio in West London is stuffed with boxes overflowing with snippets of material, braids and other treasures, which celebrities including Courtney Love borrow for red carpet events. Everything is labelled with her beautiful 18th century scroll writing – a century that inspires her. She says: 'I like to be historically authentic. 'I even found the same fabric that Mary Antoinette used for her shepherdess dresses. I'm a hoarder.' Elizabeth's memory boxes have become part of British history. Still a very active designer, she shows the costumes she made for Madonna's Madame X tour in 2019, zipping between the racks of gowns, pulling them out one by one to tell their story. 'These have all been worn on the red carpet – this one was worn by Queen drummer Roger's wife Sarina Taylor for the Baftas and Golden Globes. This one by Queen Mary costume designer Alexandra Byrne, who was up for the Oscar.' Elizabeth's rock chick dresses look like they should be in an Adam and The Ants music video – with sharp military jackets and cartridge pleats over bodices and billowing tulle. She says: 'I do like an 18th century corset – it's very flattering. I did a version of that corset for director Martha Fiennes' wedding dress.' Elizabeth, from Hampstead, North West London, also does elegant and simple glamour. She tells the 5 documentary: 'This silver one was for Courtney Love. And we have done a lot for Rita Ora.' Many of the dresses look cream but when you get close up you can see the range of soft tones of her clothes. She explains: 'I tint them using things like avocado stones and tea bags.' She shows me some of dresses in her 'raggy style', made from bits of leftover embroidered fabric. The documentary reveals the extraordinary luck that brought the Emanuels and Diana together. Elizabeth says: 'We had been asked by Vogue to send them a pink blouse for a shoot – we didn't know it was with Diana. She liked it and asked who designed it.' When Diana turned up at the pair's studio to meet them, there was an instant bond. Elizabeth recalls: ''Diana was just 19 and we were just out of college, so we got on very well. She loved trying everything on. She was shy but had a great sense of humour.' The transformation of Diana happened when the Emanuels made her a daring, sexy black taffeta dress which sparked a media frenzy. 'The black dress became iconic because it turned her from a Sloane Ranger into a superstar, when she climbed out of the limousine in her first official outing with Prince Charles and she leaned forward. It turned Diana into a fashion icon.' In the documentary, Elizabeth also pays tribute to her father, the supermarket tycoon Buddy Weiner, who backed the struggling fashion graduates and set them up in business. She says: 'When we got the commission for the dress, the first person I wanted to tell was my dad. He was in intensive care with heart issues but I knew he would want to hear about it. 'The first thing he said was, 'Don't forget to charge VAT.' Typical dad!' Her father suggested the Emanuels bill a token sum of 1,000 guineas for the dress – £300,000 in today's money. Other revelations from the documentary include the stern looks Elizabeth got from the Queen Mother when sewing Diana into her wedding dress at Clarence House. 'We were making too much noise,' admits Elizabeth. 'At one point David even had to go underneath Diana's gown. When he emerged, Diana asked, 'David – have you ever met the Queen Mother?'' The Emanuels made Diana a global style icon as she embarked on a series of world tours with Prince Charles. Then things went quiet. 'There was a period of a year when we hadn't seen her and I was sick with worry thinking, 'Have we upset her'?' admits Elizabeth. 'I became ill with worry and the press started to say, 'Oh, they're out of favour.' She continues: 'So my dad wrote to her private secretary and I got a phone call out of the blue from Diana asking to dress her for the Gulf tour in 1986. 'She did so much for all the British fashion industry – not just us.' Reflecting on Diana's death aged 37, on August 31, 1997, in a car crash in Paris, Elizabeth says: 'It's so sad and almost unbelievable that somebody like that could just be wiped out so quickly. I remember being at her funeral with David. The music was soaring. It was just unbelievable. 'Then laying flowers at Kensington Palace. I've never seen so many flowers. Everyone was crying. We were so lucky to have shared that time in her life.' While there have been many royal weddings since then, none will ever be as magical as Charles and Diana's. Of Meghan's dress, she says: 'I can see why she chose it – it made a statement because it was so plain. Kate's was very elegant. She wore it beautifully. 'But at the end of the day, the wedding dress that everybody remembers is always Diana's.' • Secrets of Diana's Wedding Dress, Saturday June 28, 9pm. Watch | Stream on 5.

Shaughna Phillips finds 'incredible' portable aircon unit for under £70
Shaughna was struggling to sleep in the heatwave and asked her followers for a 'miracle' - which she later found in the form of a portable air cooler When the heatwave strikes, even summer enthusiasts can find the balmy weather a bit too much, especially when it wreaks havoc on our sleep and concentration levels. Reality TV's Shaughna Phillips, known for her stint on ' Love Island ', took to Instagram recently in search of something miraculous to battle the sweltering heat. She didn't have to wait too long to find her answer. Say hello to the Igenix IG9703 portable air cooling unit - a small yet surprisingly mighty device that's making waves on Amazon, nabbing an irresistible price drop to £69.99. Shaughna tried out the cooler and declared it "incredible", and it's not hard to understand her enthusiasm. Despite its diminutive stature, this air cooler isn't your typical air con; you won't need to deal with any hefty installations or wall vents. Instead, it draws in hot air, funnels it through a water tank, and spews out a more refreshing, crisp breeze. Plus, there's an oscillation setting to spread the cold air far and wide instead of confining it to one corner, reports OK!. Featuring three fan speed options and a design that's easy to move around, the Igenix IG9703 is ideal for any room - be it bedroom, study, or lounge. It runs quietly enough to ensure your forty winks aren't disturbed and is compact enough to stash away once the hot spell passes. In an Instagram story, the reality star wrote: "I had this aircon unit in my old flat and forgot how brilliant it was. Dusted it off yesterday hoping it would keep me cool and it's incredible. It made my fan look pathetic. I'll find the name for you because you all need it." Shaughna isn't alone in her praise - the unit has garnered hundreds of positive reviews from shoppers who claim it's a total game-changer during muggy summer nights. And at less than £70, it's a budget-friendly choice that doesn't require any drilling or complicated setup. If you're on the hunt for a hassle-free solution to beat the heat, Shaughna may have just discovered your next summer must-have. Whatever will Meghan think of selling next?
Well, you can't say that we weren't warned. Repeatedly. At the beginning of this week, the Duchess of Sussex wrote in a subscriber newsletter, in that inimitably faux-chummy way that she has perfected: First off, a sincere thank you for making the debut of As Ever absolutely extraordinary. We had a feeling there would be excitement, but to see everything sell out in less than an hour was an amazing surprise. We are pleased to share that on 20 June, we're going live with the products you love – plus, some new delicious surprises. 'Absolutely extraordinary' is one way of describing the profoundly underwhelming launch of a few pieces of overpriced tat. But as veteran Meghan-watchers know, such barrages of hyperbole are par for the course, and so I lay in wait, metaphorically speaking, for the 'delicious surprises' that we have been promised. This desperate attempt to flog overpriced groceries may be Meghan's only chance of connecting with her public The Duchess kept her end of the bargain. If you saw a picture of her smiling beatifically on a garden swing as if she had worked out the solution to world peace ('No more sleeps!') on her Instagram account earlier, you would know what you were in for. Predictably enough, the revelation of the new products proved underwhelming. There was Meghan's first venture into alcohol, in the form of an as-yet-unpriced Napa Valley rosé, which is said to have been 'sourced' from near her and her husband's Montecito home. We learn that the wine, which is – naturally enough – a 'bespoke blend', will contain 'soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish', and that it is also 'launching just in time for summer entertaining'. For those of us who might need several bottles' worth of bespoke blend Californian rosé to watch the threatened season of With Love, Meghan, this is a highly welcome addition. But for the rest, it's just another expensive celebrity-endorsed wine, given an added fillip of cynicism by the circumstances under which it's being sold. The other items are a 'limited edition orange blossom honey' – yours for a mere $28! (£20.80) – which the copywriters have gone to town on. We are breathlessly informed that it has a 'beautiful golden hue, an enticing aroma, delicate floral notes and subtle citrus undertones'. Indeed, not since Mr Jackson the toad entered Mrs Tittlemouse's parlour in Beatrix Potter's The Tale of Mrs Tittlemouse in search of honeyed delights has a product been so hyped. This 'standout addition to your pantry' is a must-buy – for those of us who have pantries, of course. Finally, there is also an apricot spread ('which balances a delicate sweetness and a gentle brightness that lets this beautiful stone fruit shine') is almost a bargain at $9 (£6.70) if you opt for a mere jar. Most, however, would wish to go the whole hog and sample the keepsake packaging, which costs a mere $5 (£3.70) extra. If this all sounds appallingly naff and cynical, then caveat emptor. Meghan has not established herself as an internationally renowned figure through a lack of business savvy. The initial launch of the brand in April was described as being 'infused with joy, love, and a touch of whimsy'. Be that as it may, this latest instalment looks as if it's been carefully focused-grouped. As stories fly of the latest tranche of departures of Meghan and Harry's staff – another four have departed in the past week, taking the number of departees up to well over twenty since they headed to Montecito, an impressive figure for this humble and publicity-shy pair – this rather desperate attempt to flog overpriced groceries may yet be Meghan's only chance of connecting with her public. Such neediness may be admirable, but it's also becoming grating. This particular honey trap is one that all but the most susceptible will be easily able to resist.
