Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice are reportedly "waiting in the wings" as Prince William is set to "shake up" the monarchy, much like his father, King Charles. The Prince of Wales is thought to favour a more streamlined monarchy, with recent reports indicating that he's keen to keep a tight rein on Royal expenditure.
This could potentially lead to a reduction in the number of working royals. Since taking the throne, the King has relied on his younger siblings - Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh - to step in when required.
However, the future shape of the monarchy under 42 year old William seems less clear-cut. His brother, Prince Harry, stepped down from his role as a working Royal to move to Montecito, California, with Meghan and their two children, according to Yorkshire Live.

This has fuelled rumours that William might turn to his cousins for support when he becomes king. This could see the York sisters shouldering more responsibilities, says Royal author Ingrid Stewart.
Speaking to New Day magazine, she said: "They're valuable assets and I'm certain they'll get involved with royal duties when William becomes king. I'm sure they would like to do more and they're waiting in the wings to be asked.", reports the Mirror.
Richard Eden of The Daily Mail recently suggested that William is beginning to appreciate the worth of his cousins. His late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, was also fond of leaning on her grandchildren for support.
Eden remarked: "From what I'm hearing, Prince William is starting to see the value of his cousins and what, in the long term, they could give. Obviously we had Queen Elizabeth who was supported throughout her reign by her cousins, such as the Duke of Kent, Duke of Gloucester, and the ones I'm writing about this week are Princess Beatrice and Eugenie.
"They're doing more and more. They're private duties really, in terms of charity work, but I think Prince William and his father are noticing this and appreciating it."

The York sisters, adept at carrying out Royal duties, have been seen attending garden parties at Buckingham Palace—events usually under the patronage of the Prince of Wales. Eden suggested: "So I think we should expect some future announcements. It's an exciting time for them."
Rumours suggest that Zara Tindall, daughter of Princess Anne, might become increasingly involved in official Royal duties. Zara, who appears to share a close bond with the King, was publicly photographed embracing His Majesty just last year.
According to Richard Eden, William seems keen on positioning his wife Kate Middleton and their children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and seven year old Louis, as central figures within the Royal family.
In a conversation on the Palace Confidential podcast, he commented: "Prince William, like his father, has always favoured slimmed-down monarchy as the future and what that looks like being now is just William and Catherine and their children. But, how on earth could they justify all the wealth and palaces for that one nuclear family?".

Eagle-eyed fans spot blunder in Meghan Markle's latest Instagram post promoting As Ever brand

Published: Invalid Date, EAGLE-eyed royal fans have spotted a surprising blunder in Meghan Markle's latest Instagram post – despite the Duchess of Sussex being praised for her 'attention to detail'. The photo, posted on the official Instagram page of her lifestyle brand As Ever, appears to be a heartfelt thank-you to followers. 6 6 6 But the image, believed to be taken in Meghan's kitchen in Montecito, California, seems to have accidentally revealed more than intended. At first glance, the post looks polished and charming. A handwritten note sits neatly in the centre of the picture on a marble worktop, reading: 'You're beautiful. Full stop.' The note is surrounded by sprigs of thyme, two eggs, a rolling pin and scattered flour, with Meghan's hand peeking into the bottom left corner of the image. However, fans quickly noticed something that seemed out of place – a small black mouse cursor just above Meghan's hand on the left edge of the picture. The digital slip suggests the image may have been taken as a screen grab, rather than a fresh photograph. Followers took to social media to comment on the tiny detail. One user posted on Twitter: 'Eagle eye right there.' Another wrote: 'I didn't even notice that, well spotted,' as the image gained attention online. Others were excited to simply catch a glimpse behind the scenes of the Duchess's latest project – a lifestyle venture that's seen a wave of success since launching earlier this year. The cursor blunder has drawn comparisons to another royal photo mishap. Last year, the Princess of Wales came under fire for edits made to an official family photo, sparking widespread speculation and criticism. Now, Meghan's oversight has led some to call this her own 'take two' moment. It follows another incident at the start of the year when Meghan made her long-awaited return to social media. On New Year's Day, she posted a video of herself barefoot on the beach, writing '2025' in the sand. But sharp-eyed viewers spotted an earlier attempt already written nearby – suggesting the scene may have required a few takes. One follower quipped: 'Wonder how many it took to get the perfect shot?' while others noticed multiple footprints in the background that hinted at previous runs. This week's Instagram post came as Meghan launched three new items under her As Ever brand – a Napa Valley rosé wine, an apricot spread, and a limited-edition orange blossom honey. In her caption, she wrote: 'It's true. From our hearts to your homes, thank you for being here. You're the sweetest part of what we do!' The new wine is Meghan's first move into the drinks market, described by the brand as having 'soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality and a lasting finish'. The 2023 rosé will be available to buy from 1 July, just in time for summer. The new honey – priced at £21 – is said to have a 'beautiful golden hue' and 'delicate floral notes with subtle citrus undertones'. It sold out quickly, along with the apricot spread, which comes in either a keepsake jar (£10) or a standard pot (£7). The brand also brought back several items from its first collection, including raspberry spread, herbal teas, flower sprinkles and shortbread cookie mix. Most of the original items sold out within an hour of launch. Meghan originally announced the brand earlier this year under the name American Riviera Orchard, but changed it after a trademark dispute. Explaining the name switch, she said: 'Last year, I had thought, 'American Riviera', that sounds like such a great name… but it limited me to things that were just manufactured and grown in this area.' She added: 'As Ever essentially means as it's always been… If you've followed me since 2014 with The Tig, you know I've always loved cooking and crafting and gardening — this is what I do.' Now, as her followers continue to grow – with her personal account @meghan already boasting over 3.9 million – every post she shares is under the spotlight. And as this latest image proves, no detail, however small, escapes notice. 6 6

Clover still on cloud nine following Royal effort of Flowerhead

One of the newest names to the training ranks, Clover has enjoyed a dream June, saddling not only his first ever winner but quickly taking his tally to five. However, it is his 100-1 runner-up at the Royal meeting which has firmly shone a spotlight on his fledgling Newmarket operation. 'It's getting increasingly hard to find words to describe Wednesday, it was a very special day,' said Clover. 'We love this filly and you hope for a run like that, but it's hard to do it on that big stage and she was incredibly gutsy and did us incredibly proud.' Flowerhead ultimately proved no match for Aidan O'Brien's ultra-impressive scorer True Love in the Ascot Group Two, but having been drawn on the far side of the track, Clover was left to ponder what might have happened if able to race closer to the main action on the stands side. 'I saw Aidan's horse in the pre-parade and I was seriously worried as she is the most impressive two-year-old filly I've ever seen,' explained Clover. 'But It would have been fun to see her drawn upsides True Love and have a bit of company and see if they could have had a hammer and tongs battle. Would we have come out on top? I don't know, but I think we certainly could have got close.' Although just failing to join brother and fellow Newmarket handler Tom Clover on the Royal Ascot roll of honour, the 29-year-old hopes to soon match his exploits in Group company, as connections plot the next move with Flowerhead. Owned by Kia Joorabchian's Amo Racing, the daughter of Starman appears set to step up in trip, with Clover highlighting Newmarket's Duchess of Cambridge Stakes (July 11) or a return to Ascot for the Princess Margaret Stakes (July 26) as possible options. 'She seems to have come out of the race really well and we can now think of picking up some serious black type,' continued Clover. 'She shapes like she wants six and the data at home would back that up, but she was showing plenty of speed so that's why we went for the Queen Mary over the Albany. 'However, Colin (Keane, jockey) felt she was little bit off her feet in the early stages and then when she found her feet she came home so strong that six furlongs next would be the right direction. 'There's plenty of six-furlong races we can target. The Duchess of Cambridge is on the radar, although that might come to soon. She's absolutely pinged out the race, but I am aware she has already had three starts and we just want to get our next move right. 'We'll have that race on our radar, but failing that we can go back to Ascot for the Princess Margaret at the end of next month.'

As well as working on secret projects, Mel has teamed up with Tesco to launch the UK's first supermarket wedding gift registry offering couples a range of gift packages covering off the everyday essentials. The first Pride in Wales took place back in 1985 with fewer than 100 people, but fast forward to this weekend, and thousands turned up, with more people signing up in advance than ever before. ‌ The atmosphere throughout the day was full of plenty of colour, energy and celebration, with families, performers and community groups all taking part in the lively event. Lots of people spoke about the importance of visibility, especially this year with the LGBTQ+, telling WalesOnline that the community is still facing a number of barriers in society. The protest group Cymru Queers for Palestine blocked the original parade route near Cardiff Castle after saying they had tried to engage with Pride Cymru before the event but felt they were ignored. ‌ Hannah, from Cymru Queers for Palestine said: "We contacted Pride, met with them and they ignored us. So we will not stop and we will not rest until we say that Pride Cymru has no ties to the Israeli war machine.' The parade was rerouted, and Pride Cymru later released a statement saying: 'Despite our best efforts to engage with the group ahead of and during the event, the situation on the ground made it impossible to proceed with the original parade route as planned. 'Pride is a space for protest, celebration, and solidarity. We remain committed to creating a Pride that reflects the diversity and voices of our entire community.' Article continues below The celebrations carried on in Coopers Field, with performances from Ella Henderson, Shola Ama, Kimberly Wyatt, Booty Luv and local drag star Carrie Sauce. Whether Mel Schilling was here for work or just passing through, it's safe to say she definitely got a warm, and very colourful Cardiff welcome.
