ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD)Abu Dhabi will host the One Run race on May 25, 2025 at Hudayriyat Island. The event is a collaborative effort between Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) and Hero League.Participants can choose from four race categories – a half marathon, 10km, 5km, and 1km races – catering to individuals of all ages and fitness levels.The race aligns with the ADSC's mission to promote healthy lifestyles and foster a strong sports culture within the community, aiming to make sports an integral part of daily life and enhance the quality of life in the emirate.Concurrently held on the same day worldwide and recongnised at the world's largest half marathon, the ninth edition of the One Run International Running Race is anticipated to attract participants from more than 30 countries, including Russia, Cameroon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Morocco, China, Serbia, Pakistan, Argentina, Venezuela, India, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kuwait, Tajikistan, Nepal, Turkey, Yemen, Greece, Belarus, Egypt, Slovenia, South Africa, Peru, Togo, Brazil, Armenia, Malaysia, Jordan, and Chile.Executive Director of the Events Sector at ADSC, Talal Mustafa Al Hashmi, said, "We are honoured to partner with Hero League in organising this event at Hudayriyat Island, which has become a premier destination for sports activities in Abu Dhabi.""The One Run race is part of our ongoing efforts to support community initiatives and promote sports as a daily habit, contributing positively to the emirate's quality of life."Since its inception in 2017, the One Run International Running Race has seen exponential growth, earning a spot in the Guinness World Records twice.
The race expanded internationally in 2023 and was held in 15 countries in 2024, reflecting its global appeal and significance.

It also reflects the wise leadership's commitment to supporting heritage sports, in line with the announcement of 2025 as the 'Year of Community.'

The official logo for the Al Ain Masters 2025 was unveiled on Sunday, marking 100 days to go until the start of the UAE's premier badminton event — the only BWF Tour event in the region. The logo, a rich blend of purple and gold, reflects both Al Ain's proud heritage and its future. It shows a badminton shuttlecock alongside Al Ain's iconic fort and mountains – a perfect mix of sport and culture. The Al Ain Masters 2025, a BWF World Tour Super 100 tournament, will be held from September 30 to October 5, 2025 at the Al Ain Club in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Organised by the UAE Badminton Federation with the support of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the event will host 250 shuttlers from 55 countries aiming for valuable world ranking points in the lead-up to the LA 2028 Olympics. This is the first time the oasis city of Al Ain will host a BWF event of this calibre and the city's rich cultural and natural landmarks — from its majestic oases to the iconic Jebel Hafeet — promises an unforgettable experience for players, fans, and visitors alongside the high-intensity action on the court. Speaking at the unveiling, Noura Aljasmi, UAE Badminton Federation President, said: 'We are proud to bring the only BWF Tour event in the region to Al Ain. The Al Ain Masters is more than just a world-class competition — it's a powerful platform to promote badminton in the UAE, inspire the next generation of players, and put our country on the international badminton map. Marking the event's first time being hosted in Al Ain Region, the championships will feature more than 1,000 male and female athletes from 60 by the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF), the event is to be hosted by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation for the fourth year in a row.
