Arab Ministers Stress Support for Palestinian State
The Arab Foreign Ministers reaffirmed their support for the Palestinian cause and the implementation of the two-state solution during a meeting in Jordan.
On Sunday, a delegation of the Ministerial Committee assigned by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit on the developments in the Gaza Strip held a virtual meeting with the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, after Israel blocked the delegation's scheduled visit to the occupied West Bank. Amman Meeting
Under the chairmanship of the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, a delegation of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee convened in Jordan's capital, Amman, to discuss the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and efforts to end the war and blockade on the enclave.
The meeting's primary goal was to coordinate a visit to Ramallah to meet Abbas, in a strong show of support for Palestine. However, the visit was postponed due to Israel's decision to block the Arab delegation from entering the occupied West Bank – a move that sparked strong condemnation.
The Amman meeting gathered the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, and Bahrain, in addition to the Secretary-General of the Arab League. Moreover, the Palestinian Vice President and Foreign Minister joined the meeting via video conference. Highlighting Arab Efforts
The Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee briefed the Palestinian President on its international endeavors to bring the Israeli aggression on Gaza to an end, lift the blockade, and alleviate the humanitarian crisis, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Furthermore, the Ministerial Committee highlighted the ongoing preparations to ensure the success of the International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, which will take place in New York on June 17-20, 2025, under the joint chairmanship of Saudi Arabia and France.
The conference aligns with the tireless efforts to establish an independent Palestinian State along the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital. Addressing Gaza Crisis
During the meeting, the Ministerial Committee reaffirmed support for the mediation efforts of Egypt, Qatar and the US to secure an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
It also urged Israel to allow the immediate, adequate, and sustained entry of humanitarian and medical aid, and give access to the UN organizations – particularly the UNRWA – to deliver aid supplies across the Strip. The Committee also called for ending the dangerous Israeli escalation in the West Bank.
Moreover, the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee underscored the importance of holding the International Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction in Gaza, which will take place in Cairo once a ceasefire is reached. The conference aims to implement the Gaza reconstruction plan endorsed by the Arab Emergency Summit held in Cairo on March 4, 2025. Supporting Palestinian Authority
The Ministerial Committee emphasized the significance of supporting the Palestinian Authority (PA). In the light of this, it praised the measures taken by Abbas to reform the PA.
The Committee also condemned Israel's decision to block the Committee's visit to Ramallah as a violation of diplomatic norms and a reflection of a dangerous approach aimed at obstructing the Committee's efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace, as well as to support the Palestinian government's reform agenda.
It said that this move was consistent with the extremist policies of the Israeli government, which blocks the entry of aid and medicine to Gaza and obstructs peace efforts. Palestinian Appreciation
The Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, appreciated the Committee's efforts in mobilizing international support for ending the war on Gaza, alleviating the humanitarian catastrophe, and advancing the implementation of the two-state solution.
Abbas also expressed hope for the success of the upcoming International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution.
Furthermore, he reiterated the Palestinian government's commitment to its reform agenda and called for coordinated international support for the PA reform efforts across the political, economic and security domains. Within this context, Abbas called on Israel to release the Palestinian funds it seizes.
The Palestinian President also reaffirmed commitment to renouncing violence and the targeting of civilians. He also reiterated commitment to working to establish security and peace in cooperation with Arab States and international partners, expressing hope that he would soon welcome the Ministerial Committee in Palestine.

US strikes Iranian nuclear sites
WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump announced Saturday that American forces had carried out 'very successful' airstrikes targeting three key Iranian nuclear facilities. Trump said U.S. warplanes struck the Fordo uranium enrichment facility near Qom — one of Iran's most heavily fortified nuclear sites — as well as installations at Natanz and Esfahan. He confirmed that all American aircraft safely exited Iranian airspace following the operation. 'All planes are safely on their way home,' Trump said in a post on social media. 'Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!' The Fordo facility is buried deep underground and designed to resist conventional airstrikes, making it a symbolic and strategic target. Its destruction would mark one of the most significant blows to Iran's nuclear infrastructure in over a decade. Iran had previously warned that direct U.S. involvement in its ongoing conflict with Israel would trigger 'irreparable consequences.' Tehran has maintained that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and denies any intent to develop nuclear weapons. The strikes came amid rising regional tensions since hostilities erupted on June 13, when Israel launched a wave of airstrikes on Iranian territory, targeting military and nuclear sites. Iran responded with missile barrages that have caused casualties on both sides. Iran's Health Ministry said at least 430 people have been killed and over 3,500 wounded in Israeli strikes across the country. Israeli officials reported that 25 people have been killed and hundreds injured by Iranian missile attacks. While Trump has emphasized his desire to avoid a prolonged war, he has consistently vowed that the U.S. will not allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon. Saturday's strike marks the most direct American military action in the conflict so far and signals a potential turning point in the widening regional war. — Agencies

Israel Leading Middle East to ‘Total Disaster': Turkish FM
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan accused Israel on Saturday of pushing the Middle East towards the brink of a 'total disaster' by attacking Iranian nuclear facilities on June 13, according to Arab News. 'Israel is now leading the region to the brink of total disaster,' Fidan said. OIC Summit in Istanbul Fidan's remarks came during the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul held to discuss Israel's war against Iran and related regional security issues. 'There is no Palestinian, Lebanese, Syrian, Yemeni or Iranian problem but there is clearly an Israeli problem,' Fidan said. He also described Israel's strikes against Iran as an 'unlimited aggression.' Moreover, he urged for an immediate end to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, warning that it 'would further jeopardize regional and global security.' Unconditional Support Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Western leaders of unconditionally supporting Israel. Erdogan also stated that Turkey would never allow borders in the Middle East to be redrawn 'in blood.' 'It is vital for us to show more solidarity to end Israel's banditry — not only in Palestine but also in Syria, in Lebanon and in Iran,' he told the OIC's 57 member countries. Harmful Impacts On Friday, Erdogan warned that the ongoing Israeli Iranian tensions could cause a surge in migration and have harmful impacts on Europe and the region, according to Al Arabiya. In a phone call with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Erdogan said that 'negotiations' was the solution to the nuclear disagreements with Iran. 'The spiral of violence triggered bky Israel's attacks could harm the region and Europe in terms of migration and the possibility of nuclear leakage,' he said. He also noted that the ongoing conflict had 'raised the threat to regional security to the highest level,' expressing that Turkey is making efforts to put an end to the Israeli-Iranian strikes. Israel-Iran War On June 13, Israel launched a wave of airstrikes on Iran under the name of Operation Rising Lion. The military campaign targeted Iran's nuclear facilities and killed top military commanders and nuclear scientists. As a response, Iran launched a retaliatory wave of missiles against Israel and targeted Tel Aviv. Israel also killed three more Iranian nuclear scientists, bringing the total number of scientists slain to nine, Gulf News reported. Currently, both countries are trading missiles and attacks amid intensifying efforts to halt the conflict. Netanyahu Uses Iran Conflict to Stay in Office Forever: Former US President Clinton
Former US President Bill Clinton said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was using war against Iran as a way to stay in power for good, according to Arab News. 'Netanyahu has long wanted to fight Iran because that way he can stay in office forever and ever. I mean, he's been there most of the last 20 years,' Clinton stated during an appearance on 'The Daily Show'. Clinton also said he urged US President Donald Trump to 'defuse' the ongoing war between Israel and Iran and put an end to the 'outright constant killing of civilians.' In the same context, he mentioned that he did not believe that either Netanyahu or Trump want to create a full-scale regional war. Apart from this, he noted that it is significant for the US to protect its allies but at the same time he called for restraint. 'We have to convince our friends in the Middle East that we'll stand with them and try to protect them,' he stated. Moreover, he underscored that embarking on undeclared wars that primarily destroy civilians 'is not a very good solution.' Importantly, Clinton stated that the US has stayed out of direct intervention in the Israeli Iranian tensions. However, it has provided Israel with military equipment and helped it intercept missiles from Tehran.
